To know Patricia Ann Lipsey was to know grace, creativity, and quiet strength. A woman of resilience, faith, and artistic expression. Patricia was born on June 4, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Percell and Lucille Lipsey. A lifelong learner and devoted daughter of Milwaukee, she spent most of her life and career in the city she called home.Early Life and Education .Pat was the only one of her eight siblings born in Milwaukee. She attended Twentieth Street Elementary School, John Muir Middle School, and graduated from Washington High School in 1975. Committed to personal growth and education, she continued her_ studies at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.A Trailblazer and ProfessionalPats professional journey reflected her courage, versatility, and determination. In 1980, Pat graduated from the Milwaukee Police Academy, becoming a pioneer for women of color on the force during a challenging era of transition for the department. Though her time as an officer was brief; she navigated the complexities of the period with dignity and strength.Pats career was marked by her diverse talents and accomplishments. A gifted model) she was named second runner-up in the Miss Black Wisconsin Beauty Pageant in 1979 and was recognized as one of the 10 Best Dressed Black Women in Milwaukee by the Milwaukee Courier. She shared her expertise by teaching at the Rosemary Bischoff Modeling School, Honey Bee Models, and the Al Culbreath Agency.An artist at heart, Pat expressed her soul through drawing) painting) interior decorating) and poetry. She leaves behind a rich portfolio of artwork and a collection of poems that reflect her deep appreciation for beauty and the human experience.Pat also spent eight years as a professional hairdresser at JCPenney in Northridge Mall before discovering a calling in education where she served over 13 years as a dedicated assistant teacher within the Milwaukee Public School system where her care and commitment touched countless young lives.A Milwaukee IconPat’s beauty, presence, and spirit extended beyond fashion and community spaces and became a lasting part of Milwaukee’s cultural landscape. One of her most iconic photographs was lovingly transformed into a mural by a close friend and accomplished artist. Painted on a building in the heart of Milwaukee’s central city, the mural was both striking and soulful, capturing Pats essence, elegance, and unmistakable beauty.For decades, the mural stood as a cherished landmark, woven into the fabric of the community and admired by all who passed it. Family and friends took immense pride in sharing the story behind it, pointing it out with joy and letting the world know that she was ours. The mural was not just art; it was a celebration of Pats spirit and the mark she left on her city.Faith and World TravelsFaith guided Pats life and expanded her world beyond borders. A highlight of Pats life was her 1977 pilgrimage to the Holy Land. During her travels through Israel and Egypt) she was baptized in the River Jordan) visited the birthplace of Jesus) and toured the Great Pyramids. Her adventurous spirit also took her to London and across the United States.Patricia’s walk of faith began on July 2, 2019, when she came into the truth. She was a devoted follower of "The Great Awakening International, part of a global Hebrew Awakening centered on returning to Torah, repentance, and obedience to the commandments of God. She believed deeply in rediscovering true identity through Scripture and lived her life committed to studying, honoring) and walking out the Word of God as it was given. Her faith was not merely studied, but lived) and it guided her with purpose, discipline, and hope. Pat devoted the remainder of her life sharing that truth with others. She now rests in peace, awaiting the promise of resurrection in the faithfulness of the God of Israel.Family and LegacyAbove all, Pats heart belonged to her family. Pats greatest joy and pride were her children, JeToi and Talita whom she shared with Anthony Warren. For a time, she enjoyed the best of both worlds, dividing her life between her home in Milwaukee and her home in Fairburn, Georgia. In 2020, Pat retired from the Milwaukee Public School System and made Georgia her permanent home. Following her retirement, she devoted her time and love to caring for her grandson, Kylo, who lovingly referred to her as "Nee Nee”.Cherishing Her MemoryOn Monday, December 29, 2025, Pat surrounded by God’s grace, was welcomed into eternal peace by transitioning from this life into her heavenly home.Pat is lovingly remembered by her two children, JeToi Lipsey and Talita Lipsey; her grandson Kylo Johnson; and her siblings: James Edward Lipsey of Milwaukee) WI, James Lee Lipsey of Fairburn) GA, Bobbie Jean Davis of Fairburn) GA, and Freddie (Bertha) Lipsey of Milwaukee, WI. She also leaves behind 23 nieces and nephews, 36 great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor her memories.She was reunited in eternal rest with her grandmother Mary E. Nelson, her great-aunt Sarah Rosie Smart, her parents Percell and Lucille Lipsey; her sisters Dorothy Mae Lipsey and Lula Mae Lipsey; her brothers Lewis Lipsey and Cleo Lipsey; and her sisters-in-law Juanita Lipsey and Marie Lipsey.
