Patricia Jean Lyon

January 10, 1949 ~ June 22, 2025

We are heartbroken to share the passing of our dear mother, who departed this life surrounded by the love of her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jennifer Schusterman and Jessica Terry; her sons-in-law, David Schusterman and Daryl Terry; and her cherished grandsons, Nick Terry and Ethan Terry. She also leaves behind her niece, Julie Blucher, and her family, along with many longtime friends who shared in her laughter and life. Our mother was a woman of warmth, boisterous humor, and simple joys. For over a decade, she was a proud member of the Peachtree Depression Glass Club, where she discovered beauty in history and found fellowship within the community. She loved reading, British television, HGTV, and lively card games. She especially loved celebrating Christmas, a holiday filled with magic, warmth, and cherished family traditions. She deeply appreciated nature and found peace in the beauty around her, especially in the sight of bright red cardinals, which always brought a smile and a sense of connection to something greater. She also enjoyed visiting botanical gardens and museums, particularly art museums, where she could immerse herself in creativity and wonder. In addition to appreciating art, she enjoyed painting, finding joy and self-expression in brushstrokes and color. Music was another lifelong passion—she had a wide-ranging taste that spanned from the Beatles to opera. Whether humming along to familiar tunes or listening to performances, music brought her comfort, inspiration, and happiness. She was also a devoted fan of classic films, especially the suspenseful brilliance of Alfred Hitchcock, whose movies she never tired of watching. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She created lasting memories with her grandsons—whether swimming at the pool, exploring antique shops, or enjoying their favorite local spots, such as Marietta Pizza, the Marietta Train, or Brandi's World-Famous Hotdogs. She especially treasured family travels, with highlights including the Bahamas, Lake Tahoe, Mystic, Connecticut, the Biltmore Estate, Prince Edward Island, Savannah, Georgia, Tampa, Florida, Birmingham, Alabama, and the breathtaking sights of Niagara Falls, Canada. Our mother's legacy is of quiet devotion, thoughtful traditions, a deep love of nature, art, music, and film, and an unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember when I found out she and I had a common background working for Equifax long ago. Her leadership and humor will be missed greatly.

  2. In loving memory of my generous and loving mother.

  3. Celebrating the love and legacy of my dear friend Pat!

  4. The first photo is from Jennifer and David’s wedding in Georgia. From left to right Aunt Trisha, my mom Barbara, Kyle, Kirsten and me Julie. The second photo is from a Maryland visit at Fishermann’s Inn Restaurant. Keith was away at college on the Eastern Shore and we met me him for lunch. Our tallest and shortest family members. Aunt Trisha should have stood a step or 2 up.

  5. In memory of the person who brought one of our best friends into this world and raised her to be the person she is today. This is for Patricia Lyon.

  6. Pat was the PSDGC president for well over a decade.
She always shared beautiful/fun info on so many topics.
We will miss her more than I can describe.
    Rest in peace my friend

  7. Love & deepest sympathy to all of Pat’s family and to her daughters… Jennifer & Jessica. Pat, my dear friend, I miss our little day-trips & time together. I especially miss those long talks at night when we were both so sleepy! You were a wealth of information and interesting stories. God bless & keep you… as we really miss you being with us. With love, Dianne Farris

  8. I am thinking of you & praying for you during this difficult time. She is missed so much! Love to all!
