Paul Pizzini

October 2, 1949 ~ July 9, 2024

Paul Francis Pizzini, 74, passed away peacefully on July 9 in his home in Marietta, GA. Born on October 2, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of William and Wanda (Hrabe) Pizzini. He graduated from St. Joseph High School (Cleveland) in 1967 and received his BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1972. For years, he put his talent to work as Creative Director for Miller Zell, Inc. and served as Chairman for the Atlanta/Southeast Chapter of the Retail Design Institute. Paul was a faithful member of Transfiguration Church, counting many of the congregation to be among his dearest friends. He loved spending time with people—family, friends, colleagues—particularly around football season. (He was an avid Packers fan.) Paul was always up for an adventure, whether it was traveling abroad or simply taking his grandkids to the playground. The memories he made were vast, and they will be deeply treasured by those he made them with. He is survived by his wife, Denise; son, Andrew (Becca); two grandsons, Hudson and Beckett; brother, Dale and sister-in-law, Linda Alessandri. A Mass, celebrating Paul’s life will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Rd., Marietta, GA, on Thursday, July 18, at 4 p.m. Dress: Bright colors and casual. Interment will be held in October at Ignatius House. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to your favorite charity/cause in his memory.

  8. I am so sorry to here of Paul’s passing. He was a fellow CIA student with great talent. It was very good that he was at the 51st reunion in Cleveland last summer. It was wonderful to see him again. My condolences to his family.

  9. Paul has a special place in my heart. He had to rehome a little collie puppy after discovering that he was quite allergic to him. I felt so sorry for these two, and went to Paul’s place at lunchtime to see the poor little dog. I decided to help Paul by taking the little puppy home to help find him a new home. Little Patrick made his home with me and all my housemates for the next sixteen years. Thank you, Paul. Rest in peace.

  10. I had only had the pleasure of meeting Paul, 10 short years ago, but immediately you got the sense of the warm-hearted, genuine soul he was. My deep condolence to his family and all who loved him

  20. Paul always had a smile on his face. At Mark and Rod’s football parties, Paul always made sure I had a place to sit. Then, we would sit and chat for a while. What a GUY!!
God love you Denise and please know that God has you right hand and your family and friends have your left hand.

  21. Paul was a leader with a great sense of humor. He had a good business sense but always creative and willing to go the extra mile. Paul was a big reason we won the Unilever account which allowed me and others to work and experience China, Singapore, and London. Paul didn’t care if he went, he just wanted to win the work. He was a great teammate and always working hard to understand your side of the story. We will miss you Paul!

  22. Paul.. Dear friend, how we miss you. So creative, artistic, and always with a smile. While on a project, bikes or serving RDI, your Spirit remains.

  23. I have many fond memories of working with Paul at W.H. Smith and MZ. He always has a big smile and has a great sense of humor. I extend my deepest sympathies to Mrs Pizzini and family. May you find comfort in the love and support surrounding you.

  24. Paul’s Eulogy. Spoken so eloquently, by Drew on the day of his Dad’s Mass of the Resurrection, 07/18/2024.

Thank you all for joining us today as we celebrate my dad’s life.

There really is so much to celebrate, it’s hard to know where to begin. Everyone here has their own “Paul stories,” and many of you have shared them over the past few days. Thank you. It’s been a joy hearing and reading them all.

While each story is different, I’ve noticed that two words keep coming up again and again: humor and kindness.

Dad had a great sense of humor. He could find humor in anything. He could lighten any situation with a dry comment or a joke. And no matter who you were, you were always in on it. Every funny moment you had with him felt like it was just between the two of you.

That’s because when you sat and chatted with my dad, he was 100% present and in the moment. It didn’t matter how frivolous the topic was, he was always interested and engaged. And, what’s more, he cherished every second of it. You could just tell.

Dad was also one of the kindest people you would ever meet. He didn’t have to work at it; it just came naturally to him. He was just as quick to share a sympathetic ear or lend a hand as he was to share a joke. Some of my closest friends have said he was like a second dad to them: you always felt welcomed, heard and valued around him. That’s something I think everyone here can relate to.

I want to end on a lighter note. You might have noticed some of us wearing hummingbird pins. There’s also a hummingbird inside your program. Well, there’s a story behind that.

My folks always enjoyed watching the hummingbirds on their deck, off the kitchen. They had been seeing the same two since May and looked forward to their flights every day. Last Thursday, my mom went out to water the plants, and there was a third hummingbird for the first time.

Since then, other friends and family members, including myself, have seen an uptick in hummingbirds in our comings and goings. So, if you see an errant hummingbird, it’s probably dad. And if he could talk, he’d probably tell you what he’d tell mom after returning from an errand, long overdue: “I wasn’t lost…I was on an adventure.”

It’s been one hell of an adventure.

  25. Without question it was easy for me to like Paul and consider him a Friend. What I realized is that I hold him in high regard, as I do his family. I too am older and to find a Friend like him is not in the cards for me. Just one Paul and I am grateful to have known him. My very Best… mark floding…

  26. I’m still mourning Paul’s passing. I’m daily reminded of his never ending smile and I hear his voice in my head continuously. He is the only person that always pronounced my name Roddieeeee. He was such a treasure to have as a friend… one in a million. He will NEVER be forgotten and I look forward to seeing him on the other side of the veil. May he rest in peace until we meet again. I love you Paul,
    Rod Voss

  27. Paul,
To my best friend. You gave us smiles, laughter and most of all love. Thank you for the memories of life. I miss you every day.
