Phyllis R. McBride passed away peacefully, Friday, February 24th, 2023. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two loving daughters, her grandchildren, and a host of devoted family and friends. Her sweet, kind, and compassionate presence will be greatly and fondly missed by those who knew and loved her. Memorial services for Phyllis will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00A, at West Jacksonville Church of God In Christ where she was a dedicated member for 14 years, and prior to that a long time member of the Cathedral of Faith church community. Please send flowers to West Jacksonville Church of God In Christ, 3838 Firestone Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210 during the following times/hours:Friday, March 10th before 1:00P, and/or Saturday, March 11th, before 9:00A.

  1. Mama Phyllis was such a sweet person to me. She had a beautiful smile. I remember having Christmas with her and Monica one year at her house so I wouldn’t be by myself for the holiday.💝

    A: Phyllis, was the kindest person to meet. Her smile, would capture you, even before she spoke a word.

    Whenever, I would talk with her, she always has an inspiring message that I could hold onto. Never a negative word spoken.

    Phyllis, will be missed but Heaven has gained an Angel.

    A: I met Phyllis at Novitas, she was one of the sweetest person I have ever met, always helpful and not afraid to say what is on her mind she will surely be missed. May her soul SIP.

    A: I met Phyllis at Sandalwood High School and we continued being friends during our Sandalwood class of the 70’s meetings.
    I would like to say that Phyllis was a very nice and sweet person and always keeping us updated on upcoming trips for the class of the 70’s to book a class trip.
    Phyllis will truly be missed by her former classmates (The Sandalwood Saints of the 70’s). We love you Phyllis!❤️RIP!🙏

  14. I don’t even know where to start. I’m still processing this. Ms. Phyllis was like a 2nd mother to me. We worked together at Novitas and she became one of my dearest friends. Nit just at work but outside if work. She loved her children and grandchildren. To her family I offer my dearest condolences. And to her oldest daughter Monica Ms. Phyllis loved you, loves you, and always did. She was very proud of you and your accomplishments. Both of her daughters. RIH Ms.Phylis. I love you always.

    My first Burger King whopper my first of many midnight musicals. You loved music I remember is going to see bebe and cece Winans and how you loved Ron Winans besides my mom and sisters you were one of my biggest cheerleaders often calling me and saying I am so round of you cuz I remember your prayers when I had dark times after my divorce you were the best my Phyllis those heavy hands when you laughed your beautiful smile I will always cherish the memories and I will see you on the other side I know you and Granny are rejoicing
