Robert Henry Quinet, affectionately known as "Bob" to his friends and loved ones, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, following a prolonged battle with several health issues. Bob was born on June 16, 1941, in Pittsburgh, PA, to his parents Henry J. Quinet and Mary E. Nelson Quinet. He spent his formative years growing up in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area before making a home in Marietta, GA in 1982 and recently Canton, GA. He was 82 years old at the time of his passing. Bob had been married to his devoted wife, Gail Wetherington Quinet of Miami, Florida, for an incredible 62 years. From a young age, Bob displayed a remarkable work ethic, starting with selling newspapers on street corners at the age of 10 to assist his family. Throughout high school and while attending Broward College, Bob worked diligently at Bud's Garden and Supply Company. His career path eventually led him to the foodservice distribution industry, where he embarked on a remarkable 50+ year journey. Bob held various regional sales, management, and leadership roles in prominent companies such as Recipes Foods/The Doxsee Clams Company, Borden Food Service, and Prestige Sales & Brokerage Company, which he owned. He concluded his illustrious sales career with Twelve Baskets, Inc. Throughout his professional career, Bob was renowned for his impeccable integrity, ethics, genuineness, and kindness. He forged deep personal relationships with his customers, industry peers, and colleagues, earning him legendary status as a consummate sales professional within the food industry. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was dedicated to his community and served as a proud member of the J. Dewey Hawkins #331 Masonic Lodge in Oakland Park, FL. In 1970, he achieved the prestigious title of Master Mason and later became a York-Rite Mason. Bob's commitment to charitable causes and his desire to uplift those around him were evident throughout his life. Yet, more than his numerous contributions to work and charitable organizations, Bob's heart was devoted to his family. He was a steadfast and loving husband, a constant motivator, and an unwavering supporter to his children and grandchildren. Bob's devotion knew no bounds, and he never missed a moment to be present for his children's and grandchildren's activities, be it band concerts, horse shows, sporting events, or adventurous flights in light airplanes. His hobbies were centered around his family and their interests, reflecting his selflessness and dedication as a father and grandfather. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Quinet; his sister, JoAnn Huff; his son, Greg Quinet; his daughter, Amy Clem; his grandsons, Brian Quinet, Kevin Quinet, and Robby Clem; his daughter-in-law, Joyce Quinet; his son-in-law, Travis Clem; and his cherished black poodle, Frankie. His warmth, love, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 1. Here is the last picture I have of Bob, I took this picture of him and then he said let me take one of you. We were at my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary Party. I have known Bob for over 40 years, since he is my sister’s father in law, He and Gail are definitely family to me as well as the rest of the family, I love him dearly and will miss him at the family get togethers! My love and prayers go out to the family! I love you all!!

  2. I new Bob in high school and am sorry to hear of his passing. We shared the honor of being the first graduating class from Stranahan High School in Ft. Lauderdale many years ago. In high school, as I recall with a demished memory, Bob was active in several organizations that probably produced the desire to succeed in life.
