Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Robert “Bob” William Froriep, 71, of Americus, Georgia, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
Bob was born on August 21, 1950, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and was the son of the late Robert Otto and Ruth Braun Froriep. He was a graduate of Toms River South High School.
Bob served as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force and went on to own Robert W. Froriep Construction company. Later in life, he worked as an in-demand gunsmith.
Throughout his life, Bob poured his heart and soul into every endeavor. He was the best kind of perfectionist – he wanted it done right, but was always willing to teach others in the process.
From the smallest task to the biggest projects, Bob could build – and fix – anything.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bob could hold a conversation with just about anyone, and those talks were often lengthy. They were also filled with humor, wisdom, and truth.
He always enjoyed a good party and usually could be found dancing the night away.
His heart was big. He loved with all he had. He was never afraid to tell it like it is. His smile was contagious and his handshakes and hugs were strong and meaningful. He was a fierce protector of his family and everyone he loved.
Bob was a founder and lifetime member of Station 20 of Pinewald Pioneer Volunteer Fire Department in Berkley Township. His love of sport shooting led him to be a longtime member of the Ground Swipers Rod & Gun Club. Later he served as head coach for the Stetson University Skeet and Trap team in Florida.
He is survived by partner, Mary Patricia Price in their Georgia home, daughter April Weaver, and husband, Jonathan of Salisbury, NC, and daughter Tara Thorn and husband, Chris, of Whiting, along with his beloved grandchildren Jack and Audrey Weaver of Salisbury, Corrine White and Husband, Nick, of Pine Beach, and Hannah and Brielle Murray of Whiting. April and Tara’s mom, Maryann, remained friends with Bob and is supporting her daughters.
A celebration of life will be held on August 6, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park Stage in Bayville, followed by a repast at the Bayville Fire Department.
“Be safe, be healthy, be happy, and God bless.”
