Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Sandra (Sandy) M. McDowell of Acworth, GA passed peacefully on June 23, 2023, at 71 years old.
She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) McDowell; sons William A. Wallace, Steven McDowell, and Scott McDowell; and seven grandchildren.
Sandy's life was a testament to her unwavering love for lighthouses, the beach, and her innate ability to connect with people effortlessly. Sandy's admiration for these beacons of hope extended far beyond the physical structures themselves. She saw lighthouses as symbols of strength, resilience, and guidance—a reflection of her own character.
Her life was a shining example of the power of kindness, the beauty of nature, and the joy of genuine connections.
In the darkness of grief, let us remember her as the beacon of light she embodied, forever guiding us toward a more compassionate and connected world. May her spirit soar with the seagulls, dance with the waves, and find eternal peace in the lighthouses that she adored.

What an absolutely beautiful and caring lady she was, inside and out! We met at Shiloh UMC in Kennesaw and soon discovered we had both graduated from Headland High School in our beloved town of East Point. Though I was several classes ahead of her, we had a close bond and enjoyed “lunch bunch” with other church ladies and sometimes just the 2 of us. I could not have had a kinder, caring, funnier friend! To say I’ll miss her is an understatement, but now she’s free from illness and pain and resting in God’s care. Well done, my good and faithful friend and sister in Christ.💗✝️🙏🏻
