Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Stephen Francis Fick was born to Joseph and Marie Fick and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. A graduate of Saint Agnes Catholic School, Steve enlisted in the United States Navy on July 4, 1964. After serving in the Vietnam War, he returned to civilian life to marry the love of his life, Marie Ronhovde Fick. Steve worked for AT&T for over 35 years. He started out pulling weeds around telephone poles and worked his way up the company to retire as a supervisor and systems analyst. His career moved his family around the South and Midwest several times from Minnesota, Texas, Missouri, and finally to Atlanta in 1990. After retiring from AT&T, Steve went on to modernize and streamline the computer and network systems at his parish, Transfiguration Catholic Church. A lover of movie musicals, cowboy shows, and comedy duos such as Laurel and Hardy, Steve could always be counted on for his bellowing laugh, honest advice, and the love he showed his family and friends.
Steve is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie, their children Mark (wife, Shannon) Fick, Joe Fick, Kristen (husband, Donald) Roch, and his cousins Robert (wife, Janita) Winter, Pat (Kathy) Carney. Steve is also remembered with love as a grandfather to Katherine Fick, Hannah Fick, Rebekah Fick, Joey Fick, Donnie Roch, and Stevie Roch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Fick and Marie Moriarty, stepfather James Moriarty, and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Fick.
A funeral Mass will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Road Marietta, GA 30066, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 1:30 PM, with a reception to follow in the parish hall.
