Tarif Amir Wilson

June 18, 2001 ~ January 20, 2022

Tarif Amir Wilson passed away unexpectedly from this life on January 20, 2022 at the age of 20. Tarif was a gifted young man. He was an avid learner, articulate, charismatic, fashionable, and had a big heart. Our Tarif lived a meaningful life cut short after losing his recent battle with mental illness. Tarif was born on June 18, 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia to Rose and Amin Wilson. He graduated with his high school diploma and went on to pursue a higher education at Kennesaw State University. Tarif was always successful in gaining employment because he was a hard worker and would not hesitate to ask his employer for a raise. He consistently showed diligence and determination to accomplish his goals. Tarif admired Malcolm X and emulated his outspoken personality. Tarif was intelligent, respectful, ambitious, and a very determined young man. He had a great personality and was always fun to be around. Tarif had the most beautiful smile that would light up any room. As a young boy he loved his summers in New Hampshire with his grandparents and always wanted to celebrate his birthdays with a yellow M&M ice cream cake. He enjoyed camping and even fighting off the black bears. Tarif took pleasure and enjoyed the elements of nature. He was an angler fisherman and took pride in fishing with his father and grandfather. Tarif had many hobbies, he enjoyed soccer, football, swimming, and loved playing his video games. He even enjoyed making meals into sandwiches, but most of all he loved eating pizza. His love for pizza was evident by his screen name “want some pizza”. Apart from his hobbies he was passionate about exploring and learning different meanings of life and spirituality. He took the role of protector very seriously; he was extremely protective of his big sister and mother. He was definitely a mama‘s boy who loved both his parents unconditionally. Tarif is preceded in death by his Great Grandmother Ann Marie Evans, Grandfather Rodney Skelton, Uncle Albert Massiah, Aunt Elaine Massiah, Cousin Keisha Massiah, Cousin Jayzon Jones, and his devoted protector, Taz (dog). To cherish his memory and life, Tarif leaves: Mother Rose Wilson, Father Amin (Syreeta) Wilson, Sister Jalilah Wilson, Great Grandfather Gordon Evans of Stamford CT, Grandparents Emory and Kathy of Lisbon NH, Grandmother Ms. Massiah of Orlando FL, Grandmother Iris Skelton of Kennesaw GA, Aunt Katie Jo Younkins of Arlington VA, Aunt Edith (Marvin) Wilson of Buffalo NY, Aunt Debra (Willie) Jones of Atlanta GA, Aunt Laura (Jason) Shelvy, Aunt Tammek Jones Hicks, Uncle Bishop-elect Joseph (Laveda) Massiah of Orlando FL, Uncle Adam Massiah of Atlanta GA, and a host of loving cousins, friends, and extended family Please click here to attend the service livestream.

  16. This young man came into this world triumphantly, and I was lucky enough to be there for his birth. He has always been a bright and outgoing kid, which I am sure continued as he got older. Although I didn’t get to spend much time with him through his formative years, he had a lasting impression on me. Rose being an understanding mother, who has been patient and loving towards her kids, set a beautiful example for me when I became a mother. His arrival was always so special to me, as it was the first time I had seen a being appear right before my eyes. One of the most magical experiences of my life was created by Rose giving birth to Tarif. Thank You for that experience Rose and Tarif know that you will forever be in our hearts. The bond shared between a parent and child is an unbreakable one and I’m certain they will remain connected forever. Wishing Tarif a very good next adventure that is exactly as he wished it to be. You have love that surrounds always, from so many who knew and loved you.

  17. Praying God’s angels of comfort be with you during this difficult time.

  18. Dear Syreeta Skelton Wilson and family, Our warmest condolences to you and your loving family. Love & prayers, The Hennep Family
