Teslyn E Allen

January 15, 1940 ~ July 17, 2025

Teslyn Eugenie AllenAge 85, of Jamaica, West Indies, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025. Born on January 15, 1940, in Clarendon, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert Abbott. Teslyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and church member. She is survived by her beloved children: son James Gibbs and daughter Elaine; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings—Lynette Abbott, Unamae Platt, Azlin Phillips, and Anthony Abbott—as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Teslyn was preceded in death by her husband. After graduating high school, she attended a sewing academy and became a passionate seamstress. In her early years, she crafted beautiful embroidery and dresses for family and friends. In October 2000, she relocated to the United States to live with her daughter and family. She loved playing the harmonica to celebrate birthdays and entertain her grandchildren. A dedicated member of local churches wherever she resided, Teslyn often spoke fondly of the children she helped raise and the joyful memories they shared. In her final years, she wished to be remembered as a child of the Lord—secure in her faith and deeply grateful for the family and friends who cared for her well-being. The family will receive guests for a memorial service at Southern Cremations & Funeral Home, 640 McGarity Road, McDonough, GA 30252, on Monday, July 28, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. Online viewing will be available via a provided link.
