It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Thelma V. Stinson on February 3, 2024. Thelma V. Stinson was born March 4, 1934, to the late Mr. Barrington Grogan Sr. and late Mrs. Hattie Glover Grogan in Atlanta, Ga. Thelma went to high school at David T Howard where she ran track and performed high jumping. Thelma was married to James Lee Stinson for over 25 years. Their marriage was a testament of passion and love.
Thelma dedicated 20 years to Small's family and the Rollinsfamily. She worked and retired from Mr. and Mrs. Small alone with Mr. and Mrs. Rollins.
Thelma obeyed the Gospel of Christ in 1990 at West End Church of Christ. She was a member of the Golden Voices Singing Group. Thelma often used her beautiful voice to carry Gods message.Thelma is predeceased by her mother and father Hattie Grogan and Barrington Grogan Sr.; her sister Annie Pass; brothers Robert Grogan, William Fred Grogan, and Leroy Grogan; son Kenneth Grogan; also, grandchild Kenneth L. Grogan Jr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory children Tommy Grogan (Vanessa), Reginald Grogan, Cheryl Yvette Stinson (Todd) and Barrington Grogan Jr. (Louise); a multitude of grandchildren.Antoine L. Grogan (Sheryl), Anthony B. Grogan, Tiffany N. Grogan, Lashasta Mathews, Reginald L. Grogan Jr., Katurian Mathews (Myers) Jermel, Craig L. Grogan, Sequia K. Grogan, Joshua L. Grogan, Xavien I. Grogan, and Xavier I. Grogan; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all who have shown their love, encouragement, and concern through phone calls, text messages, cards, letters, food, gifts, and prayers.








Condolences to the family from Mamie Walker Thompson. I remember Ms Thelma singing in the Senior Choir with my mom. She could carry a time. Will miss her spirit and smile. I grew up with her children. All praises to God. She’s in God’s hands now. Hope she will see my mom in heaven and they will be in God’s heavenly choir together. Love you Stinson family.
