Todd Robinson Halfacre

January 9, 1970 ~ August 24, 2023

Todd Robinson Halfacre, 53, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2023. He was preceded in death by his partner, Catherine Lucretia McBee; his mother, Carolyn Halfacre; and his father, William Earl Halfacre. Todd is survived by his stepmother, Deborah Bugbee Halfacre; his children, Sarah Elizabeth Halfacre of Cartersville, GA and Zachary Robinson Halfacre of Hiram, Georgia; and his siblings, Scott Earl Halfacre of Sevierville, TN, Robinn Jill Halfacre of Orlando, FL, and Kaitlin Dianne Vulakh of Boston, MA. Those that knew Todd would describe him as outgoing, fun-loving, and passionate. He was flawed, as we all are, but was ultimately a beautiful human when he was himself. Despite his battle with addiction, Todd was a loving father who cherished his family and those around him. At this time, no public services are planned. Instead, Todd’s family has chosen to reflect on the things they loved most about him, in hopes of humanizing the opioid crisis and reflect the man behind addiction, the disease that ultimately led to his death. His daughter, Sarah, recalls some of her favorite qualities about her dad: his sense of humor, his love and empathy for others, and his taste in desserts – qualities she is proud to see in herself. He loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs, drinking coffee that he described as light and sweet, and soaking up sunshine. As a former firefighter-paramedic of Davie, Florida, Todd had a passion for helping others. When he was himself, he was known for cheering on his daughter at her weekend softball tournaments, helping those in his recovery program, and going to the movies with his family - even if he fell asleep half-way through. Todd’s family would like to thank all of those who had shown him love, support, and fought for his sobriety. It is because of you that his family has beautiful memories to reflect on as they grieve his passing. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction or mental health, our family encourages you call or text SAMHSA’s Substance Abuse Helpline at (1-800-622-HELP). For those who have inquired, in lieu of sending flowers, we encourage you to make a donation in Todd’s name to the Overdose Response Network, a non-profit organization working to reduce fatal and non-fatal drug overdose rates by improving information sharing across agencies and supporting evidence-based interventions.
