Tracy Arnette Thomas was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 26, 1969. Born to biological parents, Sherwin Jones and Madelyn Hanson, she was raised in a Christian family along with her sister, Maria, by parents Benjamin and Madelyn Hanson. Tracy accepted Christ as her personal savior at the early age of 12. She was baptized by her grandfather, Rev. John Crews, and became a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Tracy was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools, graduating from Shaw High School in 1987. She attended college in Cleveland, Ohio and Atlanta, Georgia.
Tracy, along with her family, relocated to Atlanta, Georgia and because a member of Highpoint Christian Tabernacle under the leadership of Apostle Tomas and Doctor Carolyn Vinson. Later, Tracy attended First Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia as caregiver to Mrs. M. Moon so that she may enjoy her church services on a weekly basis.
Tracy was married to Reginald Smith of Cleveland, Ohio. To this union was born her beautiful son, Reggie Smith. Later, Tracy married Lee Thomas and to this union two beautiful children were born: Rashawn and Aliyah Thomas. Her children were the center of her universe and she dedicated her love, passion, and commitment to them. Family meant everything to her. Tracy was vibrant, loved bright colors and loved to laugh a lot. She was very dependable, courageous, and fearless. Compassionate and loving, giving of herself and her time to many along her journey; helping others was her specialty.
Tracy’s passion and ministry was to care for babies and the elderly. She owned and operated a childcare business and was a caretaker (CNA) to the elderly. She attended Chattahoochee Tech and completed training as a network specialist for Cisco. Also, completed training for Medical Encoding.
Tracy leaves to cherish her loving memory: Lee Thomas, husband; sons, Reggie Smith & Rashawn Thomas; daughter, Aliyah Thomas; granddaughter, Ava Smith, whom she loved dearly; mother, Madelyn Hawwari (Ali); sister, Maria Wyatt; brother, Jamil Hawwari; nephews, Jeff Childress (Kiara) & Terry Ashford; niece, Sarina Hanson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and all other family & friends.
