Virginia H. De Haven

July 3, 1922 ~ June 7, 2025

Virginia De Haven, age 102, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, just shy of her 103rd birthday. Born on July 3, 1922, in Pennsylvania, she lived a long and remarkable life marked by quiet strength, resilience, and deep love for her family. Virginia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived her later years surrounded by the warmth of family and the comfort of home. Her gentle spirit, quick wit, and steady presence were a gift to all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved son, Robert C. De Haven Jr., and her devoted daughter-in-law, Mallika De Haven, who cared for her daily with unwavering love and compassion. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her joy and laughter throughout her final years. Virginia will be remembered not only for her longevity but for the life she lived with grace, humility, and quiet wisdom. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before her. A private family remembrance will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a hospice organization or caregiving foundation of your choice.

Guestbook

  1. To the family of Virginia De Haven,
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Virginia. She was one of our earliest members here at the Dormont Historical Society and she spend many years helping us get our organization up and running over 25 years ago. Even in her later years after she moved to Georgia to be with her family, she kept in touch with us and blessed us with her delightful and beautifully written correspondence. Her smiling demeanor and constant enthusiasm were welcome assets to our group. We hope that you have many pleasant memories, as we do, to sustain you in this time of sorrow.
    John Cunningham
    President, Dormont Historical Society
