Wentz Smith III

Wentz Smith III, 68, was born November 23, 1952 in Charleston, Mississippi. He departed this life on September 14, 2021 in Georgia. Wentz lived out the later part of his life with his only daughter LaTosha Simmons and son-in-law Robert Muldrow of Marietta, Ga. and grandchildren Tessola, Kamari, and John. He had a never-ending thirst for knowledge. He was a walking encyclopedia. If you wanted to know something just ask him…he could tell you. He spent his free time watching CNN News, sports, National Geographic, and any other informational show. He liked watching Chop-Chop and action movies. His favorite board games were Scrabble and chess. He would always help those he could and he loved looking out for the kids. Wentz is survived by his mother, Ossie Lee Smith of Rockford, IL; his three brothers, Glen, Melvin, and Ellis Smith; two sisters Denise and Myrisa Smith; sons Quartez, Christopher, and Gregory Appleton; and special friends Lucille Johnson and Linda Appleton. He was predeceased by his sister Ruby Smith and son Lothan Henry III. A memorial service will be held by LaTosha Simmons on Saturday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. at 1530 Dickson Dr. Marietta, Ga. 30066. If in attendance, you are more than welcome to say a few words.
