Pitts; Daughter- in- Law Robinette T. Pitts (Warner Robins, GA); Sister Ethel Cook (Opelika, AL); Grandchildren Brittany T. Huff (Jacksonville, FL.), Shavion L. Wilson (Miami, FL.) and ,Iyonee R. He graduated from David T. Howard in 1971, where he was a member of ROTC. Willie entered the Iron Working Field and joined the Union of Ironworkers of #387 until retiring in 2018. He was a God-fearing man that deeply cared about Family and the importance of being there for family. Willie loved to travel, and those travels led him on many adventures. He was also a man of impeccable taste and style. His sense of style was more than clothing; it reflected his elegant and refined personality. He believed in the power of presentation and how it could enhance one's presence and impact in the world. Willie’s contributions to the world extend well beyond his travels. His architectural prowess left an indelible mark on the city, and he played an integral role in the construction of countless buildings that now grace Atlanta's skyline. As we mourn the loss of Willie, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived. His boundless curiosity, his adventurous spirit, and his unwavering love for the world serve as an enduring reminder that life's greatest treasures are found in the journey itself. Though he may have taken his final voyage, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to guide us on our own journeys. A visitation with Willie's family will be held September 7, 2023, from 5:00-8:00pm at Southern Cremations and Funerals in Fairburn, GA. A service will be held on September 8, 2023, at 1:00pm to celebrate Willie's life and will be livestreamed for those who can't attend. The link is below under service information.

Guestbook

  1. Words simply cannot express the lost that I am feeling a son. Love Daddy

  2. Daddy I miss your constant laughs, your love for family, your dedication and your determination. Thank you for your love and your sheer will and for the press. I also thank you for allowing me to love your son and accepting myself and Iyonee into the family.
I love and miss you terribly..

  3. We will miss you Willie (especially my mother). You were the best 1st cousin my mama had. She always talked about how you told her she still had a brother after both her brothers passed away. Nothing but good family memories. You were always good to us & fun to be around even when we climbed that hot Stone Mountain about 40 years ago. Much love to my family ❤️ ~ Love Keyona Foston & family

  4. Sending love, prayers & condolences to my family from Alabama.

  5. Although I havent known Uncle Willie very long, I have had the most fun talking with him on the phone. We would sit and talk for the longest time and each tume was full of laughter!! His down-to-earth demeanor and love for his children and family made me so proud to be part of this family. The last family cookout (my first) in May really solidified what I felt in my heart. I only wish that we had more time to make more memories. Rest in peace my precious Uncle! Your love and legacy will live on! ❤️ Your niece, Cheryl Cook (Daughter of Ethel Cook)

    With deepest sympathy,

  8. I was so sorry to hear of Willie’s passing. After discovering through a friend that we were cousins, we got to speak at length on the phone, and made plans to meet up. I’m sorry we didn’t get to, but I felt good in knowing that I had more family in Georgia. My prayers are for his children and loved ones to have peace during and after this time of grief. May your memories be precious. God’s Blessings.
