Yves Jean

August 29, 1946 ~ August 16, 2023

Yves Jean passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023 in the care of Tranquility Hospice at the precious age of 76. Born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti on August 29, 1946 he was the eldest of Amise Jean’s five sons. As a young man, he attended J.B. Damier Special School in Port-Au-Prince; where he obtained vocational training as a diesel mechanic working with heavy machinery and industrial equipment. During the era of 1965-1979, he worked for different branches of the Haitian government such as: TPTC, SEPRRN, and Corps Des Leopards (a military branch). Yves migrated to Miami, Florida in 1980; where he met his beloved wife Marie-Lourdes and the two created a blended family. Together, they operated several thriving businesses, a restaurant, and a car wash. Yves later became a founder of La Respectable Lodge La Meditation; and gained his rite as a 33 degree mason. He believed in God and the redemption of his soul through Jesus Christ. Yves was filled with a charitable spirit that he would often smile through his greatest challenges; denouncing all limitations. He would say, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) We recount his life as a testimony of perseverance in our daily lives. In his honor, he is loved and will truly be missed. Yves Jean is survived by his inherent children: Evelyne Jean, Lucilia Jerome, Virginia Louis, Jean-Price Jerome. Grandchildren: Shawn Pitter (Jerry), Summer and Isreal Louis. Siblings: Garry and Joseph Edmond, sister-in-law Lugie, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
