Zettie Lois Shelnutt, born on Febriary 21, 1953, and a beloved wife, mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
Zettie is survived by her devoted husband, Wendell Shelnutt, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Her son, Michael McCormick, Debbie and Russel Kimbrell, Patricia Smallwood and Karl Walter, will forever remember her nurturing spirit. Additionally, she is survived by her former husband, Charles McCormick, a host of nieces and nephews who were dear to her, and special nieces Tina Smith, Lisa Smallwood, and Charity Hindman. Although she had no biological grandchildren, Zettie showered all her brothers' and sisters' kids with love and care, treating them as her own grandkids.
Zettie was predeceased by her brothers, Mark Hindman and Lamar Hindman, and her parents, Alvin and Jettie Hindman.
Throughout her life, Zettie found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for collecting jewelry, each piece telling a story and holding sentimental value. Her green thumb was evident, and she cultivated vibrant flowers that mirrored her lively spirit. Zettie also had a deep love for Bible study, finding solace and guidance in her faith.
Zettie Lois Shelnutt will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A graveside service will be held on January 17, 2024, at 1:00pm.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her and the memories she created with those she leaves behind.

Lois, you are one of in a million my best friend.Now who is going to do Bible study with meat 5 clock every morning .You taught me more about God and love than anyone .You and Pat are irreplaceable now you have up and left ., but I guess as long as you are with Jesus and the rest of the family it will be ok.Remember how we talked of remarkable beauty how heaven was going to be .And our glorified bodies never to suffer any more no more burdens.What we have lived for you can now do running around the throne praising our Lord ans Savior , so just bask and enjoy til i get their with you.YOU WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER BE IN MY HEART.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I am going to miss you. Our texts and our talks everyday have meant so much to me! You have always been there for me. It’s really hard to imagine life without you. Your cray ways have brought so many people joy!! Thank you for being my 2nd momma!! You were the best!! I love you!
Lois you will always be remembered for all the enjoyable card games and our trips to Florida,You always kept us laughing and smiling .You’ve been a great sister in law .I know you will be greatly missed by Pat and Debbie as well as the rest of us.Goodbye till we meet again someday sweet lady.
