Catherine Brooks Stewart

Catherine Brooks Stewart, 85, of Marietta, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Daybreak Village. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Daybreak Village who cared for and loved her the last 3 years. A native of Miami, Florida, Catherine was born July 8, 1934, daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Helen Clark Myers. She received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Woodrow Wilson College of Law and was a housewife. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Stewart, and is survived by her first husband, George Brooks, whom she remained close to until her death. Surviving are her daughters and sons in law: Mary and Chris Mullinax of Cartersville; Elizabeth and Scott Sappington of Dallas, and Margaret Whelchel of Kennesaw. Grandchildren also surviving her: Katie Beth Mullinax, Brayden Mullinax, Pearse Mullinax and Tyler Carver. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, January 27, 2020 at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park with Reverend Mark Mosley officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
