Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
August 20, 1929 - February 13, 2020
Marjorie Bloomfield, 90, of Powder Springs, GA passed away peacefully under hospice care Thursday, February 13. Her adventurous spirit, quick humor, generous heart, and resolute love for her family defined her life.
In 1971, Marjorie and Paul moved from Dayton, Ohio to Georgia to establish their new home. Hard working and family focused, she surrounded herself with those that meant the most to her and because of this, there was never a time when her house wasn’t filled with those that loved her.
Marjorie enjoyed working at AT&T until her retirement, traveled when the opportunities arose, played cards, dabbled in ceramics, gambled at the dog tracks, ate pancakes for breakfast every day, started the tradition of sugar cookies and fudge being on tap the entire month of December, always told the truth, and unfailingly helped anyone in need.
Marjorie is survived by her sister Lois Marsh, four children Susan Carroll (Roger), Barbara Sellers, David Bloomfield (Rhonda), Ellen Dykema (Jim), 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her daughter Paula Kay, husband Paul, sister Linda Dee, and parents Ellen and Jack Todd.
Visitation, Celebration of life ceremony and graveside service will be held at Southern Cremations and Funerals, Marietta, GA on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 10:00am - 1:00pm.
