Sheri Elizabeth James was born on October 10, 1971 in Atlanta, Georgia and passed away on February 15, 2020 in Marietta, Georgia at age 48 following a long illness.
Sheri grew up in Marietta where she attended Joseph T. Walker School and Shiloh Hills Christian School. She graduated from Wheeler High School and Kennesaw State University with a degree in Spanish. She studied at The University of Roehampton London. Sheri taught Spanish at Marietta Charter School. She loved being a student both formally and independently.
Sheri is preceded in death by grandparents, Richard and Madlyne Andrews and grandmother, Faye James; aunt, Sharon Rene Kuchek; and great grandparents, Roy and Bernice Brantley.
She is survived by children, Patrick Brantley James and Gabriela Melodie James; mother, Melodie Andrews James; father, William K. James and his wife, Grace; sisters, Angela Dawn James Crouch and Laura Rene James Walker; uncle, Michael R. Andrews; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sheri once witnessed a family park next to her with 3 children in the back and the mother holding a newborn in her arms. She went into the store, bought a car seat for baby, and waited by their car until they came out. She taught them how to install the seat, secure the baby and left. This was her heart and habit.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In liew of flowers, we request donations to G-PACT, (Gastroperesis Patient Assistance for Cures and Treatment) at their website.








Sheri was a volunteer for the 1996 Summer Olympics. She was a driver moving althletes from venue to venue. She loved the sense of pride for Atlanta! She was also a volumteer Egleston Children’s Hospital where she was a greeter and interpreter for Hispanic famlies. She had a amazing sense 0f humor, dry and unexpected at time!!!
