Larry Wayne Winfree, (72) son of the late Haskel and Mary Frances was born on January 8, 1948 in Lebanon, Tennessee. He graduated cum laude at Belmont University in Nashville, TN and majored in management. He received his electrical engineering degree at Nashville State Technical Institute. He also received his master’s certification in project management at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. He worked at CommScope as an engineer/project manager and later retired in January, 2015.
He married Anita Winfree on July 2, 2006. They shared fourteen wonderful years together. He quietly departed this life and into the arms of Jesus on March 13, 2020 in Dallas, GA after a brave fight with cancer.
Larry’s life can be remembered by his love for the beach, shag dancing, reading History, boating, leather making, golf, tennis, grilling on the Green Egg and spending time with his family. He will be remembered by how he cherished his family, how he enjoyed a simple life, being a hard worker and a deep love for his country.
He is proceeded in death by his sister, Shirley Edwards and parents, Haskel and Mary Frances. His amazing life will be cherished in the lives of his children: Mike, Matt (Jaime), Valerie (Wendell), Miranda (Brice), grandchildren, Mia, Ella, Maria, Molly, Zoie, Ellis, Xander and Brody.
Larry’s ashes will later be distributed with family on the Tennessee farm where he spent his childhood.
