Steerforth Joseph Lucky Okor was bon on October 22, 1947 to Mr & Mrs Okor of Oguname Olomu, Delta State, Nigeria.
He attended Hussey College Warri in Delta state of Nigeria and Pratt Institute Brooklyn New York where he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
He met and married his first wife, Dorcas and returned to Nigeria to work for Guinness Nigeria limited. In 1982 he returned to the United States and received his Master of business Administration from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta Georgia
He then worked for American Home Products, Reckitt and Coleman in Atlanta as well as Brown and Williamson in Macon Georgia. He last worked for the Dekalb School system where he met and married his second wife, Nyasha Lewis Okor
Steerforth was an exceptional athlete who especially excelled in soccer in his early years. He had an unbridled love for tennis which he played recreationally through most of his adult life. He loved life, had a keen sense of humor and an infectious personality that touched everyone he encountered. He passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2020.
He has left behind his sister Comfort, ex-wives, Dorcas and Nyasha; son, Mamerhi ; daughters, Elizabeth, Ivie (Henry); Omono (Ayokunle), Isimemen (Felix); Grandchildren, Aderinsola, Toluwanimi, Skylar, Mofe, and Tosan, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
We will miss you sorely. You will live on forever in our hearts. May God grant your soul eternal rest and peace until we meet again to part no more.
