Michael Wayne Clawson

August 30, 1954 ~ May 29, 2020

CLAWSON, Michael Wayne, “Mike”, age 65, passed away on Friday, May 29th, 2020 after suffering from cardiac arrest. He was a graduate of Winter Park High School in 1972 and studied at the University of Central Florida. Mike was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and an active member of St. Alban’s Anglican Cathedral. He was an accomplished business professional who specialized in business development and sales management. He was well-known within the housewares industry with a career that spanned over 30 years. Mike was a Beatles fanatic, an avid Sudoku enthusiast, and a master of his Big Green Egg grill. College football season was Mike’s favorite time of year and he enjoyed attending University of Central Florida football games and rooting for the Florida Gators. He was also a dedicated runner, logging an average of 10 miles every day. Mike was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend who loved helping others and putting smiles on the faces of everyone he interacted with. He is survived by his father, Hubert Clawson; sister, Carol Hawkins; wife, Elizabeth Clawson; son, Christopher Clawson; daughter, Katherine Clawson; step-daughter, Jessica Crunkleton and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to express our thanks for the outpouring of prayers and support received from friends and the church community. If desired, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Research Foundation, 200 S. Park Road, Suite 100, Hollywood, FL 33021. The memorial service will be held at a date that has yet to be determined at St. Alban’s Anglican Cathedral, 3348 West State Road 426. The family would like to invite friends to celebrate Mike’s life in Grundorf Hall immediately following the service.
