Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. On March 7th, we celebrated Dad’s 98th birthday — it was a special time and great to be together! Now, just a little over 3 months later, we grieve that Dad is no longer with us. We can celebrate again, all the more, knowing he is home with the Lord. We are blessed for his love and devotion to family and for his strong faith and passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ that he lived before us and in his ministry. We hold on to many wonderful memories. Dad loved hunting and fishing, reading (especially the Bible) and history, loved coffee and sweets, being with family and Mom’s cooking, of course. He will be greatly missed. We rejoice that he is with Jesus and in the hope we have of being united in heaven because of Christ! Your many expressions of love and sharing great memories have been a great comfort to us. Thank you for your prayers and thoughtfulness. Love and Blessings to All! Ray, Steve, Elaine and Ann Dad’s favorite verse: John 14:6 (Apart from the way, there is no going; Apart from the truth, there is no knowing; Apart from the life, there is no living.) Jesus saith, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh to the Father but by me”.

  2. Granddad has always been my hero. I’ll never forget his infectious laugh. You couldn’t help but laugh when you were around him. The troubles of the world seemed a little less important when he was around. He always had a way of helping people see and live “the joy of the Lord”. He will be missed. Wish he could text me a picture of the streets of gold that he’s walking today.

    • Bryan, love these comments from your heart. You know your granddad sure loved you and your family. You are so much like him…a joy and blessing to me and so many!! Love you, Mom

    • Bryan, he was sure a blessing to me! I, too, would love to see a picture of those streets of gold he’s walking on!

  3. I met Mr. Robinson about 9 years ago at the Chick-fil-A Support Center when I was invited by his daughter, Elaine, to join them for lunch. We immediately had a connection as we both served in the Marine Corps. He was my brother. We talked for a good while about our respective jobs and tours of duty while serving this great country. I always called him Mr. Robinson out of respect. He was a very patriotic and humble man. I admired him for his dedication to his beliefs, love shown for his family and the Marine Corps. The attribute I admired most was his ability to remain respectful while telling you what was on his mind. There are six words that I think best represent Mr. Robinson: God – Family – Country – Corps -Honor – Loyalty. He was a God fearing man who loved his family, was loyal to his country and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Since it is said that the gates to heaven are guarded by Marines he will be joining them in welcoming his brothers home. God bless you sir. It is time to shed your earthly burdens and enjoy the everlasting life with our savior Jesus Christ. Semper Fi my friend. You are in good hands.

  4. I am so blessed to have known this precious man of God! We talked about the Lord every time Elaine and I would visit him. I would play old gospel songs on the piano and we all rejoiced in the Lord! He gave me my first Exegeses ready research Bible, a King James Study Bible and a Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible, writing a note of encouragement on a blank page in the Dake’s and King James Bibles. I treasure them more and more as the years go by! Though you will be sorely missed here I know you are having a glorious time celebrating your arrival in Gloryland where the rest of us are living to go!!

    • Thank you, Brenda for sharing these precious memories. Dad loved you and loved your zeal for God’s word. He often asked about you and how you were doing when we didn’t have opportunities to visit. God Bless You and your family!

  5. Wayne and I consider ourselves blessed to be called Louie’s friends. He was a true man of God who loved his family and friends with all his heart. We always enjoyed the times we spent with him thru the years. He was always so happy with a fishing pole in his hand. You will truly be missed sweet friend but it’s time for you to rest in peace. God Bless…love you always, Debbie and Wayne Conner

  6. There is only one Louie and will never be another. He loved having visitors and enjoyed talking to you. He loved sweets and looked forward to his treats, hamburgers and bbq sandwich’s. His later days he loved marshmallows. In heaven I am sure he is enjoying meeting everyone. Louie never met a stranger. He always knew me and made me laugh. He will make heaven a better place

  7. The things I remember most about my great granddaddy are the ones that have molded me into the person I am today. When I was very little he gave me my first rifle which is still the most beautiful gun I own to this day. You don’t know true love until you see a grown man give away his prize rifle to someone else. The day he gave me that rifle he went on for hours about his old hunting stories and I could not get enough of listening to them. I have never seen someone so passionate about fishing either. He was always wanting to go fishing and had more tackle than Bill Dance himself. I love these memories and gifts he has given me over the years and it has truly given me the passion I have today for the outdoors. I wish I had the chance to trade more stories of hunting and fishing with you. I will see you in heaven again GaGa.

  8. My Dad was truly my hero! I was so blessed to have him for 64 years of my life. He became a Born again Christian as a young man. He was a great son, husband, father, granddad, & great granddad. He was loved by everyone. He was a Marine Corp. Veteran in WWII. He graduated from Beulah Heights Bible College with honors. He loved to preach! I had the privilege of hearing many of his sermons & officiated many funerals. Always at the end of funerals he officiated he would say “this person’s story has been told, how will your story read?” “Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior?” ” Only one life will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last”. John 14:6 was Dads favorite Bible verse. Dad was such a hard worker & provided well for his family. He taught his children great values. One was to be Saved & another was let your words be the truth & always do what’s right. Dad loved fishing, hunting, bowling & reading. I loved when he would come over to the lake & we had a fun filled day of boating & fishing. He would let me drive his bass boat which was pretty cool & just knowing he trusted me enough to get behind the wheel. I could write a book on how wonderful my Dad was. He will be deeply missed! I hope the fish are biting for you Mr. Daddy! Give Mom a hug for me. I’m looking forward to spending eternity with you both! I love you forever, your baby girl, Annie💕🙏🇺🇸

    • Sis, reading your comments…I can hear some of Dad’s sermons, I can see him at the lake fishing…so much comfort thinking about all the great and fun things about him. Dad always said, “that Annie has a Heart of Gold”…and you do! Grateful for all the precious memories and stories we share. Missing Dad and Mom terribly but so blessed for all the years … in our hearts forever! Love you, Sis .

  9. Mr. Charles was such a wonderful man! I had the pleasure of taking care of him at the residency he once was at. He always had me laughing and smiling, he always talked about how much he loved the Lord, his wife, but also his lovely children. Charles would always quote scripture that’s one thing he would never forget! He could quote the Bible from front to back. He always talked of how forgiving and loving the Lord was and how anybody could be saved! My thought and prayers are with this lovely family . God Bless! I love y’all.
