Peggy was born in Buffalo NY in 1949, daughter of Jack and Jeanne Nusbaum. She grew up with three sisters, Pat, Pam and Paula. She married Ray Banks in 1968. The marriage did not last, but the two remained good friends for over half a century. She loved horses and dogs and nearly always had a canine companion. When she made friends, she kept them for life, staying in touch with high school friends and others. In her retirement, she learned how to paint and enhance photographic images with extra color and gave many to friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was generous to a fault and kind to all she knew. For the last few years she was racked by pain in her back that robbed her of sleep every night and crippled her in the day. There was no relief, no way out, no rest for a weary soul. She decided to find peace in eternal rest and asked for forgiveness in her final letter, saying “I just want to go peacefully.” Our hearts are broken, but she is free at last.
I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with you. Starting with High School, trip to Nassau and Florida, church dances, many fun times at your house, a more recent Florida reunion you organized, and you introducing Chris and I. You are and will be missed by so many. Rest In Peace Peg. Love You, Karen Mitchell
