Melvin Garry Eldridge

Melvin Garry Eldridge age 65 of Oxford, GA passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2020. Garry was preceded in death by his parents Ike and Sarah (Godbehere) Eldridge SR , brothers Thomas Larry(his twin), Glenn Albert and Ike Jr, Sister Mary Ruth Eldridge Willis. He is survived by his son and daughter-n-law Matt &Marcy Eldridge of Oxford, GA; Daughters Lynn Suarez of Conyers, GA and Stephanie Curtis of Oxford, GA; Grandchildren Noah, Max, Alex and Bella Suarez, Ryan and Avery Eldridge all of Oxford, GA; Brothers - Jackie of FT. Meade, FL, Ernest of Branford, FL, James Kenneth (Sandra) of Mayo, FL; Sisters - Wanda Brown-Gerlach (John), Joyce Huerta and Doris Rebmann (Larry), all of Avon Park, FL, and sister-in-law Myrtle of Spring City, TN. Garry proudly served in the Army from June 1973 to March of 1980 when he was medically discharged. While in the Army he received a National Defensive Service Medal, Marksman Qualification Badge and Good Conduct Medal. Garry enjoyed fishing and “working” on cars. He also enjoyed cooking, especially baking at Christmas time. He would make different Christmas candies and deliver them to people when he lived in Porterdale. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
