Joyce Murray

A journey begins with a single step…. The journey of life for Mrs. Joyce Foxton Murray began on August 10, 1941 . She was one of 13 children born to the late Norah Forbes “Gerty” and Wilbert “Willie” Foxton in Top Hill, St Elizabeth, Jamaica. Surviving siblings are Venette Foxton, Carmen Foxton, Gwendolyn Foxton, Curmlyn Foxton, and Ainsworth Foxton. She was preceded in death by Dudley Murray her husband of over 30 years. Joyce was educated in the Top Hill school system and graduated from Strathford College. As a young woman Joyce worked as a receptionist before moving abroad to the United States where she found employment as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Greynolds Park Manor in Miami Florida Joyce embraced Christianity at an early age. She was baptized at Top Hill Palace of Praise in Top Hill, Jamaica. Joyce loved and served the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. Joyce loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to pray and study the bible. One of her favorite things to do was to vacation with her family. In her spare time, she loved gardening cooking, watching her soap operas and reading. It was her passion to always live and laugh while enjoying family. On July 23, 2020 she journeyed to her Heavenly home. Blessed are the pure at heart for they shall see God. She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Lorna (Johnny) Fray-Powell, Dawn (Carl) Fray-Hoods, Tamar Murray and Samantha Oliver; grandchildren Rick, Brandon, Carl Jr, Mario, Tamia and Mason, her siblings, and a host of other relatives and friends. May her soul rest in peace and the light of God perpetually shine around her. The visitation is from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Southern Cremations & Funerals. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2020, in the chapel at Southern Cremations and Funerals - Fairburn.
