  4. Beth and I became friends in the early 90’s when I lived in Atlanta. We were close until I moved to Asheville. Beth was such a good, honest, loving human being. I loved her so much. I am truly sorry for her family because I know how close she was with them. She spoke about her family often. Rest sweet, Beth. Love you, Sumaya.

  5. Dear Dawn, George, Todd and Kendra, I am heartsick. Beth was a special person. All my love and prayers for comfort and sustenance in this awful time go to you all. May Light perpetual shine upon her and may she rest in peace.

  6. Heaven has gained an angel with the roots of a mighty oak. Until we meet again my friend.

  9. I have thought of you ever time I see a butterfly since I learned of your passing. The vibrant color, the lightness, the movement. With love.

  10. I first met Beth about 16 years ago at a United Methodist Women mission study on climate change in the then Statesboro district. We hit it off as both FSU seminoles and lovers of the environment. She returned to teach several studies over the years on different environmental issues. Each time we would just pick up where we left off. Friends can do that. I know how much she loved her family and time with them was important to her. Hold on to the good memories, and move forward in a better way for having her in your lives. I will. May God hold you close as you grieve. In Him, Barbara Fisher

  11. Beth was such a wonderful human and friend in addition to being a ‘shero’ in our green community. She will continue to be an inspiration to us.

  12. Beth and I met through the Green Chamber of the South and were both active in several environmental organizations, but while I was mostly a humble volunteer, Beth shone everywhere she went and she was a tireless advocate, organizer, cheerleader and coach for the sustainability community. I was so shocked and saddened to read of her untimely passing. The city, region, country and world needs more people like Beth. My deepest sympathies to all her family and friends everywhere. We can’t afford to lose many people like Beth.

  17. Beth – May this trees roots grow strong and give this world beauty as you did. Much love sweet Angel.

  18. Beth, your love of God’s creation and your so very warm & contagious smile will be remembered always. May God shower your family with abundant grace!

  19. I am sorry to hear of Beth’s death. She and I worked together at BSA advertising as graphic designers in the mid 90s. We would laugh about working in the “go go world of recruitment advertising” . From there I went to Southface Energy Institute and from time to time I would rope her into some freelance work for Southface. She drank the “green kool-aid” and became a force in the Atlanta region green scene on her own and I was always glad to see here out at events and making some noise and pushing the discussion. She will be missed. -Love, Greg Brough

I was blessed to have been in more than one of her training classes, the last one March 7 at Winder First UMC at the North Georgia United Methodist Women’s Faith, Fun, and Everyone Event, where Beth was teaching on Just Energy for All. Her seminar was so popular that we ran out of seating!! She was just so genuine and a joy to be with at these events, and I am truly very sorry she is gone. Judy Campbell

  23. Beth’s passion for the environment and helping people gave me inspiration when I got tired and overwhelmed with the challenges to improve the community. She was always very kind and would volunteer to help others quickly. She lead by example and motivated me to push myself harder.
