Mr. Frederick Richard (“Ricky”) Rimer, Sr., 73 of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Ricky is survived by his wife, Marjorie W. Rimer of Marietta, his son Frederick Richard Rimer, Jr. (Kathy) of Atlanta and granddaughters Sydney, Tessa and Addison of Atlanta.
Ricky repeatedly told people that family was everything. He was a devoted husband, loving father and an adoring grandfather. He was an electrician and proud member of the IBEW Local 613, where he completed the apprenticeship program, became a Master Electrician and was certified by the National Training Institute as a Master Instructor. Ricky was able to build anything. He added porches, keeping rooms, basements and many other additions to every house he owned. He took pride in his work and it showed. When not with his family, at work or maintaining a home, Ricky loved spending time at his mountain home in Hayesville, NC. His loving and gentle presence will be greatly missed by his family.
A funeral service will be held for immediate family only at Southern Cremations & Funerals in Marietta, Georgia. The family plans to host a Celebration of Life for Ricky once the COVID pandemic has passed. Because of Ricky’s love of animals, the family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30318 or on their website at atlantahumane.org.
