OBITUARY, Marilyn Wright Frame
Marilyn Wright Frame Ristau was born February 1, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life September 13, 2020 at the age of 92 and 7.5 months. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Alice Ristau [Frank A. Randall] and William Everett Ristau, Jr. [Kendall Kay Ristau], as well as four grand-daughters: Hannah Leigh Plowman, Anna Elizabeth Ristau, Jennifer Lin Ristau and Rachel Kathleen Ristau.
Marilyn was the third born child of William Burton Frame and Mary Jane Wright Frame. Her brother, David, and her sister, Odie, were older than Marilyn. Her brothers, George and Charles, were younger than Marilyn. All siblings pre-deceased Marilyn.
Marilyn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washington University in St. Louis, in 1952, graduating with honors. She enjoyed emergency medicine, surgical unit, and later in life worked in various nursing homes giving care to the elderly.
In 1955, Marilyn married William Everett Ristau, and their first child, Susan, was born on December 16, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia. William Everett Ristau, Jr. was born on May 22, 1959. Marilyn spent the majority of her married life in the Atlanta area taking care of her two children while her husband flew Captain for Eastern Airlines. Marilyn’s husband passed away 4 years ago.
Marilyn moved to the Walnut Mountain community in Ellijay, Georgia in August of 2019 to be near her daughter, Susan, who cared for her while she battled Parkinson’s Disease, dementia and intractable lower back pain. Marilyn became as active as she could with Homeward Bound Pet Rescue, working alongside Susan, to help homeless dogs and cats.
Marilyn was a kind, generous, compassionate woman who loved all people and all animals (including her three cats on which she doted). Marilyn donated to many international charities for people less fortunate, and endangered or suffering animals. Marilyn’s favorite charity was Doctors Without Borders. Everyone who met Marilyn loved her and her unique, special sense of humor. The world is less bright now that Marilyn has crossed over.
