    • I remember Wilkie fondly. He was such a gentleman, had a great sense of humour and was a true professional. Wilkie was truly an asset at VMBS; not easily replaced at all. It was certainly a pleasure working with him and l would like his wife, his daughter and the rest of the family to know that Lorenzo Wilkie was a class act and will always be remembered… positively! Rest in peace Wilkie! (Barbara Campbell)

  2. Rest In Peace Mr. Wilkie. You were such a pleasant , helpful, reliable person to us all , and especially me ,at the HWT Branch all those years Ago. . I specifically remember you assisting me in collecting my daughter Rachael from school on a few occasions when I was not able to because of work. Rachael remembers you well and was saddened to hear of your passing. It was Indeed a pleasure talking with you in the USA, a couple of years ago on the phone. You were so surprised ☺️ My deepest condolences to your Dear wife, daughter and the Rest of your family. May the Lord Jesus be a comfort to you all at this sad time. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹✝️ Kind Regards Joan Peart

  3. I want to start by saying a few words from the popular song by Shirley Caesar I REMEMBER DADDY AND THE LOVE THAT HE GAVE. Daddy was a great person to be around because of his loving, caring, jovial, and passionate personality. I remember when I first came to Kingston he opened both his arms and home to me so that I could have a stable father figure in my life and he didn’t fail. He was a great father to both me and Monique and an exceptional husband to mommy and a great grandfather to Amirah. There’s a lot of things we would do together on the weekends especially playing his collection on records, picking me up from tennis practice or from Saturday class and the fun we had washing the van together. I can also remember the very first time I met him, it was in the morning after Monique birthday party and I was in this strange house I cried and he was there to comfort he and said everything was going to be ok and then mommy said why you don’t take him out for a ride and so said so done, I started to calm down in the van and his jovial personality just immediately kicked in he gave me a lot of jokes to calm me down. You know there’s nothing bad anyone can say about he because he was just such a calm person and he like us to do our very best in whatever we did, he was the first person to congratulate me on passing my GSAT, he said i know you could have done it. He made sure none of us was wanting in any department. He would be greatly missed by especially me and anyone who came in contact with him because of his personality and his love for his children. I FINISH BY SAYING I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU IN A HAPPY WAY LOVE YOU DADDY AND S.I.P

  4. I met Wilkie in the 1980s at VMBS and worked with him for many years. He was a very pleasant, kind, and willing person with a great sense of humour. He went about his duties with pride and diligence, and never said no even when he was very busy. A few years ago Errol, Sandy and myself visited him and his family at his home in Georgia. It was a very happy occasion for all, and we even had a little ‘pizza’ party. I didn’t know that would be the last time I would see Wilkie in the flesh. He will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace. Bridget Henry

  5. In Loving Memory of Mr.Lorenzo from the Mannis and Moore Families of Wood Park Trace.

  6. During my tenure as the Manager, at the Victoria Mutual – Half Way Tree Branch, I had the pleasure of working very closely with Mr. Lorenzo Wilkie for about 12yrs. We affectionately called him Wilks or Wilkie. He was a well respected team member of the HWT Branch for many years. Wilkie was a very dedicated, diligent, willing and pleasant person, who not only loved his job but enjoyed performing his duties as Messenger/Driver. He was a reliable member of the team and I depended on him to assist us in achieving our goals. I found Wilkie to be a trustworthy person with high integrity who went the extra mile of performing his duties. Wilkie’s pride and joy was his daughter, Monique. He spoke about her quite often. At times he brought her to the office after school and I found her to be so well behaved. Wilkie was also an active member of our Staff Club. He loved to play badminton and dominoes, doling out quite a few “6-loves” in his time. I was happy that after Mr. Wilkie retired he had the opportunity to spend some quality time with his dear family in Atlanta. My sincere condolences to his wife Winsome, daughter Monique and the rest of the family. I pray that the good Lord will comfort you during this very difficult time. RIP in peace my friend, you will be greatly missed. Fay Lowe

  7. I’m still trying to process in my mind that you are no longer here with us. Just as I became your friend you left.🙇‍♀️ I know if it was left up to you,you would be still here.I Truly miss you Daddy Wilkie. Miss buying for you your favorite biscuits and drink.RIP Daddy.

  8. It is so hard to say goodbye on a short term basis to those whom we care about, let alone to say goodbye forever to those we deeply love. Uncle Lorenzo was deeply loved and he too loved deeply. He was the perfect substitute for any situation- if not the man for the job. He would be anything and everything he could be to anyone in need of his help. He was selfless, kind and caring. There was never a dull moment around this uncle because he would take you on his natural high of jovial, fun and free-spirited personality that would cause you to smile. He will be sadly missed. RIP, until that great getting up morning, farewell. #IguessItooktoolong

  9. Uncle Lorenzo was the kind of person to joke about almost everything no matter how serious it might appear to be. I remember one time he was about to leave Jamaica to return home in Atlanta, he looked at his dear wife and asked with a not so serious face, what is the largest sum of money the custom would allow you to pass through without having to declare your source of income, his wife looked at him with a very curious look since she knew he had retired and she was wondering where would he had gotten such a large sum of money, she then asked him, how much money do you have, uncle’s response $40.00, we were dying of laughter since we were all guilty of overthinking.

  10. Our sincere condolences to Winsome, Monique, Amirah and all the family and friends of Lorenzo. It is so sad to know he is gone and we won’t be seeing that sweet smile of his or waving to him across the street. A truly good neighbor who will be missed. Danny and Debbie Maddox Wood Park Trace

  11. May His soul rest in sweet peace. Always calm quiet and forgiving. Took me to school saving collection every Wednesday while at VMBS and also bought my curried goat from MobyDick Restaurant for me every Wednesday during my pregnancy. Mr. Wilkie was always there when you needed help. Sleep on beloved, sleep and take your rest.
