Eileen Calliste-Dunston

November 10, 1959 ~ November 6, 2020

Eileen Calliste-Dunston’s life began on November 10, 1959 in Mt. Rose, Grenada. She spent most of her childhood years growing up in the city of Gouyave with 6 siblings: Mike Calliste, Rita Collins, Sandra Calliste-Ettienne, Derek Calliste, Colin Calliste, and Jessie Calliste-Givan. Eileen attended St. John’s Christian Secondary School (Shaper’s School) in her youth then progressed to Perryman’s Secretarial School and James Computer School where she mastered the art of typing and grew a love for computers. She could type 70 WPM with little to no errors. For those who closely knew Eileen, you knew three things about her. She loved everything about hair and makeup, taking care of others, and singing – she had the voice of an angel. In her early years, she pursued a singing career by joining one of the biggest bands in the city, Harmonies with Brass where she met her first husband, Edmond Calliste, the lead singer of the band. Eileen and Eddie were married for 16 years and birth three beautiful children together: Shane Calliste, Kareem Calliste, and Ariel Calliste. In the late 90s, Eileen and her children moved to the United States to start a new life living in various states such as New York, Maryland, Virginia, finally residing in Georgia. While in Georgia, Eileen was determined to further her career within the medical field, so she enrolled into Sandford Brown College and graduated with honors within less than two years. Eileen was the master of many traits. She worked diligently in the medical field as the world’s most caring CMA while perfecting her craft in Cosmetology. She graduated from Cosmetology school and became a Master Cosmetologist in 2004. Eileen’s career and clientele blossomed as she became a full-time Cosmetologist working her way up to Manager of one of the most prominent hair franchises, Famous Hair Salon. She later shared her talents with two largely known franchises, Super Cuts and Great Clips. Not only would Eileen make her clients look like movie stars by styling and cutting their hair, but she would warm their hearts while doing so. Her passion kept her going for many, many years. While she has accomplished so much in her professional life, Eileen’s biggest blessing and calling was serving God. Her spirituality and commitment to our Lord and Savior led her to live a life of faith, compassion, and forgiveness. We are blessed to know that she is resting in Heaven with her late mother and father; Irene Isabel Hannibal and Lincoln Daniel Calliste, brother; Derek Calliste, and husband; Gregory Dunston. God truly blessed us all by granting the opportunity to spend some time with this beautiful soul. We will continue to celebrate her life in Jesus’ name.

  1. Ashley, Our hearts go out to you and your family. Please, know we are here for you all. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

  2. Eilleen and I would have so much fun as she cut my hair. I would feel so pampered when I left and she was such a genuine person. We bonded over both working in the medical field and over hair. I followed her from store to store and also to her home when she was working from home. We were friends and always hugged and said love you when parting. I hadn’t seen Eilleen for a year due to taking care of my mother. I am at a loss knowing she is gone. I want to express my condolences to her family.
