Andrea Anaezi Nwankwo

May 1, 1990 ~ November 30, 2020

Andrea Anaezi Nwankwo, born May 1, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2020. She was the eldest of three children born to Chris and Cecilia Nwankwo. A true homey, Andrea lived her entire life in Cobb County, Georgia, graduating from Harrison High School. She then attended Southern Polytechnic University and Georgia State University where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees, respectively. A passionate teacher and mentor to her students, she then taught at Altierus Career College in Norcross, Georgia, until her death. Andrea was full of life, had an effervescent personality, and literally lit up the room around her close family members and friends. She had a beautiful smile and cherished and loved her family unconditionally. A voracious reader, she had varied interests and hobbies. She had passion for the arts, painting, and design. She loved music and enjoyed singing. She was highly skilled in sewing and enjoyed painting in her spare time. Andrea also loved dogs and found a special friend in her long-term companion, Toby. Though she lived a short time on this earth, she left us with other countless fond and indelible memories. She is now in heaven at peace with the angels until we see her again. Andrea Anaezi Nwankwo is survived by Chris Nwankwo (father); Cecilia Nwankwo (mother); Ezinne Nwankwo (sister); Chizoba Nwankwo (sister); numerous loving relatives overseas, especially in Nigeria, Europe, and life-changing friends. We will miss Andrea dearly.

  1. I am still in total shock ! Anaezi .. I fondly called her – so full of life , hard worker and so funny . I will miss you dearly , but will cherish all those times we worked together . May God grant your family and friends the grace to go on . Rest on sweet Angel 😇 – Connie . O.

  2. I was fortunate to work with Andrea during her time at Rite Aid. She was such a joy. Everyday she came to work full of joy no matter what had happened to her that day. She showed such care and love for all of our customers. She went above and beyond to make sure they were taken care of. She showed a level of care and compassion for others that I aspired to show. She was family to all of us. I will miss this gem of a person gone too soon from a world that needs more of her, but will never be forgotten by the people she touched.

  3. I met Nwankwo (I called her by her last name) during orientation at Southern Poly. We immediately became friends and have been friends every since then. She was funny, fun, had a great smile and was a great friend. She loved hard and I appreciate our laughs, tough conversations and adventures. She was a great artist and I’m honored to have one of her original paintings. She loved her family very very much and she loved her friends. I love you Nwankwo! 💜

  4. My deepest condolences goes to the Nwankwo family who allowed me to not only enter into the life of Andrea but their lives as well for a cherished season. Me & Andrea quickly became very close friends freshman year at Southern Polytechnic State University. We shared many classes, advice, laughs, growing pains & joy…I haven’t lived in the Atlanta area in over 8 years and though life took us in different directions— she still was the first friend to visit me in TN ❤️ I will miss your vibrant personality & that stunning smile. Your spirit will continue to fill up every room! Especially all the purple rooms ❤️🙏

  5. May your bright personality & sweet smile continue to fill up every room. Rest in love

  22. My husband Larry and I were frequent customers and visitors of the Rite Aid Pharmacy where Andrea worked part time. A beautiful girl both inside and out she always greeted us with a smile and our first names. Always took the time to hear and resolve any concerns and to add a personal touch and asked about our extended family and our pets too! The world has truly lost a bright light that will be missed. Beth and Larry Lawrence

  23. I went to highschool with Andrea. I graduated a year before her. I remember us always speaking in the hallway, she was always so sweet and in a great mood! I loved her energy! My condolences go out to her family!
