Sara Lee Defleron

Sara Lee Widdowson DeFleron of Jasper, Georgia went to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 29, 2020 after a brief hospital stay. She was 77. Sara was born in Thomaston, Alabama and attended public schools in Troy, Alabama until graduating high school in 1962. Afterwards, she studied cosmetology in Montgomery, Alabama. She and her husband, Thomas (Tom) DeFleron, lived in Mobile, Alabama until Sara was Predeceased by Thomas in 1978. In 1980, she moved to Marietta, Georgia where she lived with her two sons until moving to Jasper in . While in Marietta, she worked at and managed the hair salon located at WellStar Kennestone Hospital and eventually retired from there. Sara is survived by two sons, Thomas Alexander DeFleron (Tad) and Lawrence Andrew DeFleron (Andy), both of who reside in Jasper, Georgia, a brother, John L Widdowson of Cumming, Georgia, a sister, Linda Widdowson Hart of Canton, Georgia and a brother, David Widdowson of Spring Valley, California. She is also survived by three sister-in-law, one brother -in-law and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Sara loved her family, also enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning jellies and preserves and cooking. She had a special fondness for watching old movies. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that dentations be made to the American Diabetes Association or any other desired charity in honor of her name.
