Raimund shared a single room with me, my five siblings, and my mother in an internment camp in Aalborg, Denmark from 1945 to 1947. He must have been kind to me who was a sickly survivor of polio and typhus as i renember being fond of him. Raimund’s birthday of December 31, 1929 was problematic as he should have been in the German army but i think he escaped. My brother Christian’s birthday was january 3, 1930 so was not drafted. Somehow the two teenagers became friends…. maybe on the refugee freighter the Orestes….
