Claye Kenyatta Hart

December 18, 1963 ~ February 17, 2021

Sunrise December 18, 1963 - Sunset February 17, 2021 Claye Kenyatta Hart was born to Adolph W. Hart and Queen E. Bennet Hart on December 18, 1963 in Bronx, New York. He was the eldest of two sons. The family later moved to Mount Vernon, NY when they had their second son, Colin E. Hart who was born in Manhattan, NY. Claye acquired his elementary education in the Yorktown Heights school district and received his diploma from John F. Kennedy High School in Somers, NY. Claye was a student athlete, primarily in the arena of football, throughout his elementary, high school and college years. After graduating high school, Claye attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies and Villanova University where he obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science degree. Claye was employed as a software engineer in New York. Later in life, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he had a prospering career as a software architect. Claye worked for AT&T where he was employed until his passing. In 1998, Claye met and married Paulette Willis from Mississippi and they lived in Smyrna, GA. From that marriage, two children, Devin and Kendall were born. Claye was preceded in death by his wife Paulette. Claye later met and married his lovely wife Donna Theodore in 2013. Claye took his role as a father and husband very seriously. He lived for his children and deeply loved his wife Donna. Claye was a proud soccer dad and was fully engaged in every aspect of his childrens’ lives. Claye was a prankster always trying to gain a smile. He was an avid reader and ‘techie’. It was easy for Claye to get immersed in anything technical; including gadgets and videos. Claye also loved the beach; particularly the sound of the ocean. Claye is irreplaceable and will be sorely missed. Claye is survived by his wife Donna, three step children Marlena, Christina, and Sergina, two children Devin and Kendall, step granddaughter Elena, his brother Colin E. Hart, sister-in-law Mary Romero Hart, and his niece Miranda A. Hart. Claye leaves to mourn his Aunts: Judy Bennett and Julia Hart, Uncle: Donald Hart, Cousins: Kerric Bennett, Kory Bennett, Dawn Hart, Kim Hart, Donald Hart II, Eric Hart, Tammy Hart and Terri Hart along with a host of other loving relatives and friends. Due to Covid-19 CDC restrictions we will be livestreaming the Celebration of Life for Claye as well. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association at www2.heart.org.

  10. My brother Claye Kenyatta Hart, Who left us too soon. When God said, let us make a father whois also a dad, a husband who is also his wife’s best friend, and a friend that sticks closer than a brother. He made Claye Kenyatta Hart. It was a blessing from God when we became black researchers number 1 & 2 in the Georgia Tech Research Institute’s telecommunications laboratory. What started as workmates quickly moved to lifelong friends and brothers. Although I can’t say it to you now, you KNOW that I will always be there for your wife, son, and daughter. As I was in your life, I will be there for as long as breath is in my body. A groomsman at my wedding. Your son and daughter as ring bearer and flower girl in my marriage. We are forever brothers, which death can not end. Let me say to the world, here lived a GOOD man. Our prayers, condolences, AND our forever support to those of your family remaining in this life. Larry & Tudeth Morrow

  13. As a co-worker of Claye’s I found him always seeking knowledge, bright, committed to the work, and impeccably honest & forthright. As a friend, he was willing to discuss the most difficult of subjects openly, compassionately, and honestly. I had highest hopes Claye would ascend the ladder of leadership to show others the rightful way from a position of authority and responsibility. I shall miss him, and offer my condolences to the Hart family – he was taken too soon, from all of us. Blessings!
