On Thursday, April 1, 2021, Brenda Joyce Duncan, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with the Lord at age 70.
Brenda was born in 1950 to the late Felton and Ada. She met her husband, Ray Duncan, Sr. in Marietta, GA. They were married in 1966. They were together for 24 years before Ray’s passing. Brenda’s greatest accomplishment was her love for and dedication to her family. Brenda was fun -loving and had a compassionate and kind spirit.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray D. Duncan, Sr. and her son, Ray D. Duncan, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters; Sondra Smith (Cliff), and Gina Shedd, grandchildren; Donald Smith (Nicole), Jesse Smith (Britnay), Brittany Perry (Drew), Matthew Smith (Jessica), Hunter Shed (Tristen), Lindsay and Levi Shedd, great grandchildren; Holly, Carly, Lexie, Taylor, Kenzie, Brooklyn, Harlee, Aliyah, Skylar, Kolton, Harper, Jaxson, Zoe, Piper, Emma and Onika, brother, Kenneth Cagle, sister, Frances Cagle, and step brothers; Andy and Danny. Many nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Brenda’s memory.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill Columbarium from two o’clock in the afternoon until four.
A Celebration of Brenda’s life will be conducted in the Columbarium of Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill on Tuesday, April 6,2021 at four o’clock in the afternoon in the Columbarium with the Rev. Dwyane Britton officiating.
Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill is honored to serve this family in the most difficult of times.

Brenda (GranGran), I love you and will miss you greatly, thank you for all the times you made me laugh, it will not be the same without you here😞. I will see you again.
Mom I’m going to miss you so much! You were a awesome and loving Mom. We have had some great times together. I’ll cherish all the memories of you. I love you so much❤️
Brenda I know it’s to late to tell you but the time s we hanged and talk and Laugh and had a good time was special to me matter fact I enjoyed your company more than I did with Gina I think about u all the time. You are a wonderful mother n law. I love you very much.
We will keep your loss in thoughts and prayers. We are very sad about our kinfolk passing. We have always loved her and will always remember her.
My mind is filled with so many sweet memories of you grangran.. memories that I will cherish forever… I love and miss you more than you will ever know.. Rest In Peace my sweet grangran.. until we see each other again…
