In Loving Memory of Michiko Hachiya Greene
Michiko Hachiya Greene, was born on February 11, 1958, to Koyuki and Yuji Hachiya, in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka, Japan. Michiko passed away on April 7, 2021 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. She was 63 years old. Michiko is survived by her husband, Jon Greene, who she was married to for 28 years, and their children, Daniel, Aileen, and Tyler, and two grandsons, Noah, and Nathan. Michiko is also survived by her brother, Shigeyuki, and her mother, Koyuki. Michiko is preceded in death by her father, Yuji.
Although we grieve Michiko’s loss, her spirit and indelible presence continue to live on in her family, loved ones, and those she’s touched in her lifetime. Words cannot express how much Michiko means as a mother, a wife, a grandmother, and a friend. Those who were fortunate enough to know her, know her incredible strength and character. Michiko was always quick to volunteer to help others and would put others’ needs before herself. The strength and support she provided made possible the many successes of her family. Those who know Michiko are better for it.
Michiko is the rock, the foundation, from which to build. She is the sun that brings warmth and light to make life grow. Today we celebrate Michiko’s life.
Native American Poem
I give you this one thought to keep.
I am with you still. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone.
I am with you still in each new dawn.
