Edward "Clay" Gallup

May 16, 1959 ~ April 16, 2021

Atlanta resident and avid Brave’s fan Edward "Clay" Gallup passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 16, 2021. There will be a Celebration of Life, Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Noca Eatery in Roswell, GA at 2pm. On May 16, 1959, Clay was born in Anderson, SC, to Edward and June Gallup. After moving to Atlanta at an early age, Clay found his roots in Sandy Springs, GA. Clay was a die-hard North Springs Spartan and spoke fondly of his days playing football with friends who became lifelong friends. After graduation, Clay became the ultimate entrepreneur and tried his hand at many things. Clay was well known for his famous Clay's Café chicken wings and spent many years as a restauranteur. Clay also enjoyed his time in church and was proud to be a Christian. Clay's most favorite job was that of being a father and grandfather. Clay is survived by his father, Edward Gallup, sister Tammy Gallup Lanier (Randy), and his five children: Matthew Gallup (Rebecca), Michael Gallup (Rachel), Christy Gallup, Hannah Gallup (Brian), and Lacy Gallup. Grandpa Clay cherished his time with his nine grandchildren: Bradley, Peyton, Tanner, Brayden, Hailey Mae, Joshua, Karoline, Denver, and Weston. Clay is preceded in death by his mother, June Gallup, who lost her battle to cancer in 1995. In lieu of flowers, Clay would be overjoyed to have donations made in his name to the Brain Injury Association of America. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 2pm-4pm at NOCA Eatery in Roswell, GA.
