Marvin Wayne Garmon

February 22, 1962 ~ May 3, 2021

Known affectionately as “Wayne” his entire life passed away on May 3, 2021. He was 59 years old. His last days were spent at Northside of Gwinnett Hospital in Lawrenceville following a massive stroke. He was born in Atlanta, GA on February 22, 1962 to Charles Tucker Garmon and Lula Mae Woodard Garmon. He was the 6th son out of seven. He was a lifelong pool builder and concrete man. He was a devoted and loving father. He was a man’s man. A man of his word; a man of honor. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Charles Tucker Garmon Jr., Troy Matthew Garmon, and Charles Timothy Garmon. He is survived by three brothers, Dale Garmon and Steve Garmon of North Carolina, and Richard Garmon of Georgia. A loving partner, Angie Bryant of Monroe, Georgia, and the mother of his children, Penny Garmon. He leaves behind 4 children: Alisha (Daniel) Fraire of Cartersville, Georgia, Shane (Christine) Garmon of Oxford, Georgia, Casey (Michael) Neihaus of Monroe, Georgia, and Cody (Allison Bryant) Garmon of Monroe, Georgia. He had 13 grandchildren and loved each one dearly. He was also blessed to see 2 great grandchildren born into the family. They were a special treasure to him. And several nieces and nephews. Wayne was a wonderful man. He had many lifelong friends. He had an amazing sense of humor. If he made you a promise, he kept it. Right up until the day he died, he was fulfilling his word. The scripture made just for him was 2 Timothy 4:17, “But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength.” And no one could have picked a better scripture to sum up his life. He was and is so very loved. He will be sorely missed. He will have a graveside committal service at 2pm at Carter Cemetery adjacent to Corinth Memorial Cemetery in Loganville, GA. Memorial donations, and flowers may be sent to: Southern Cremations and Funerals 1595 Access Rd. Covington, GA 30014. Tel: 770.766.9378

  1. I just saw this. I knew Wayne in the 1980’s he helped us pour concrete pool slabs for many years. I really thought a lot of Wayne and enjoyed working with him. God Bless! John Bennett
