Perry Milton Bryant

July 7, 1947 ~ June 6, 2021

Perry Milton Bryant of Sharpsburg, Ga. passed away on June 6, 2021 in Griffin, Ga. after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Perry Bryant was born in Atlanta to Posey Milton Bryant, Jr. and Helen Davis Bryant on July 7, 1947. Perry was a Firefighter in East Point Georgia from 1972-1999 when he retired to do Information Technology work in the same city. That is when he met his Sunshine, Connie Howard Bryant, and they married on June 23, 2001. One constant throughout Perry’s life was music: he played in many bands including The Sonics and Memory Lane; he helped run sound for school productions and choral concerts at Russell Elementary School and Osborne High School; he helped lead worship through music at Safe Harbor Church of God of Prophecy; and he brightened a dark time during the pandemic with daily recordings of his music on Facebook. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Posey and Helen Bryant; his uncle, Billy Davis; his brother-in-law, Bruce Edwards; and his friends, Steve Anderson and Will Overstreet. Perry is survived by his wife Connie Bryant, mother of Monica Taubitz (Heath) and Tiffany Lengyel (Eddie); Carol Bryant, mother of son Brandon Bryant (Adria), and daughters Paige Vitiello (Joey), Shelly Sloan (Paul), and Heather McLain (Tom); and sisters Nancy Edwards, Susie Mullinax (Jim), and Cheryl Wheatley (David). He is lovingly remembered by his 14 grandchildren: Justin, Collin, Jordan, Max, Colt, Austin, David, Coa, Cece, Dominic, Greyson, Daniel, Sierra, and Taylor. A celebration of his life will be held on June 12th at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, with family receiving friends from 5-6pm and the service beginning at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Safe Harbor Church of God of Prophecy, 1300 Smithdale Road, Cumming, GA 30040, C/O Barney Johns or the Newnan Coweta Public Safety Foundation, NCPS Foundation, Inc., PO Box 1113, Newnan, GA 30264 Please click here to attend the service via livestream.

  7. This breaks my heart because Perry was a very good friend of my brothers Milton and Marvin Leak. When we were teenagers he was often times at our house to play guitar with Milton. That was so many years ago but I never forgot Perry. We were both commenting on our elementary school facebook page just a few months ago. Rest In Peace, little brother. 😭😭
