Jennifer Tidwell Willis
Jennifer Willis passed away peacefully at her Marietta home on Sunday June 6th 2021, at the age of 51, after a 26 month battle with cancer.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 25 years, Christopher, daughters Madelyn and Ella, mother Anna, and siblings Amy and Stephen. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Virgil.
Jennifer graduated from Plant City High School in 1988 and earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Florida State University in 1994. Jennifer worked as a paralegal in Florida and Georgia and then helped build and operate a successful small software business with her husband in Marietta.
Jennifer enjoyed exercise and taught stationary bike classes at the local YMCA. She created an embroidery business, and loved to sew and crochet. She was an avid reader, a lover of music and concerts, and was very interested in politics and tirelessly campaigned for many local candidates. For fun she worked as a background actor in several Georgia television and movie productions, most notably Netflix’s Stranger Things.

I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer at Moore, Hill & Westmoreland, P.A. many years ago. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. I will always remember that beautiful smile and genuine sweet personality. I am so saddened by the news of her battle with cancer and of her death. Peggy (Dykes) Stephens
In September 2017, a hurricane threatened my home and caused me and my pet to evacuate in the middle of the night. It was a frightening event, but as I hit the road to my destination, I knew that I couldn’t drive all the way through. Jennifer reached out to my best friend Cherie and offered her home as shelter for me and my cat. It was an act of pure love and compassion for me–a stranger–that I will never forget for as long as I live. I only spent one night there, but you could literally feel the love & the curiosity and welcoming spirit filling the entire home. That’s the type of lasting impact that only comes from a pure spirit, an unconditional heart, and an amazing mother. It’s a fingerprint that echoes long after her departure. Although I cannot begin to fathom her family’s loss at this time, I know with all my heart that the best part of her lives on in her family… And anyone whose life she touched, including mine. I’m a better person because of the lessons she thought me, just by being….her. May she rest in peace and may her family be comforted at this difficult time.
Amy and family, wishing you much peace as you celebrate the life of Jennifer.
We love you and love endures forever. God be with you all. Love,
Jennifer was a fierce defender of justice and the right to vote. I enjoyed working alongside her during campaigns and doing advocacy work through The Georgia Sunshine Project. Both she and Chris were active in our legislative lobbying. Her activism will be a bright light to shine on her girls. May your memories bring you comfort. Becky Crispell Arrington
