McDonough Southern Cremations & Funerals
James W. Fouts (“Jim”), age 60 of Loganville, Ga. passed away on July 22, 2021, after a short, but hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Newnan, Ga. on September 23, 1960. Jim is preceded in death by his loving parents, James Ray Fouts and Anna McClung Fouts. He is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Susie Brooks Fouts, his daughter Catherine Fouts, son Tristan Fouts, granddaughter Dakota Fouts. Loving Sisters Bonnie (Phil) Annis, Valerie (Tinakorn) NaLampoon, and Joy (Damon) Pace, as well as a large number of beloved nieces and nephews.
He served in the United States Army as a Field Artillery Mechanic, receiving expert rifleman and grenadier badges during his service. After his time in the Army, Jim worked at Stone Mountain Park for many years holding several management positions. Later in life, he fell in love with technology and earned a degree in Computer Networking Sciences. He utilized this passion for technology while working for the Walton County BOE, where he retired as a Systems Analyst in October of 2020.
In his spare time, Jim served at several churches as a soundboard technician, and he also helped start two new places of worship. He loved to spend time outdoors, fishing and riding motorcycles and kayaking. We ask that you remember him as he was in life; a lover of nature and hard work, always looking for a road he had not yet traveled.
In the spirit of remembering Jim for who he was, he requested no funeral services or memorial. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or you may donate to plant a tree in remembrance of Jim Fouts.
