Tanya Belladonna Magidow (née Titus), age 51, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA due to complications from brain aneurysm surgery.
Tanya was born in Essaouira, Morocco on June 6, 1970, the daughter of Calvin Edward Titus and Ellen Christine Jordan. She grew up in Sebastopol, CA the oldest of five, including three brothers and a sister.
Tanya loved films and drama from an early age, and began creating, directing, and “starring” in skits around the age of five. She acted in numerous plays throughout her school years, including a lead role as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel at the Marquee Theater in Santa Rosa, CA in 1984. She graduated from Analy High School in 1988, and went on to receive her BA in Film at UC Santa Barbara. She then moved to Hollywood to start her career. It was there that she met the love of her life, Grg Magidow. She and Grg were married on September 26, 1999, in Palos Verdes, CA and spent the first 10 years of their marriage in Los Angeles, working in the film industry, he as a cameraman and she as a set decorator and assistant prop master. Tanya worked on dozens of projects during her film career in Los Angeles. Some of her credits were on the episodic television shows “Seventh Heaven”, “Big Love”, “Shark”, and “Hung”, and on the feature film “About Schmidt”. Later in her career she worked on the TV show “Vampire Diaries” in the Atlanta area.
In 2008, they moved to Wilmington, NC to pursue new adventures, continue their work in the film industry and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.
In 2018, Tanya and Grg moved to Atlanta, GA, where Tanya started her second career as a certified KonMari consultant. She launched her business Peace Joy Tidy in March of 2020. Tanya helped many clients transform their homes into peaceful havens where they felt harmony and joy.
Tanya was a Master Gardener, a voracious reader, talented writer, mischief maker, creator of beautiful spaces, lover of naps and animals. Tanya loved to play tricks and watch people squirm. Her wicked, naughty sense of humor kept family and friends laughing and on their toes.
From the time that Tanya was a child, she had so much brilliance and wisdom that people considered her “an old soul”. Tanya took care of anyone who needed caring and was always the first person to jump on a flight, wherever and whenever someone could use support and care. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Tanya, loved her.
She will be remembered always for her tremendous heart, generous and creative spirit, devotion to spoiling her pig and dog children, unwavering loyalty to her family and friends, incredible laughter, spectacular Charlie’s Angels bright red hair, and the love and kindness she gave freely to everyone she encountered. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Tanya, loved her.
Tanya is survived by her husband Gregory Allen Magidow, her mother Ellen Jordan, her father Calvin Titus, sister Shani Titus Obedoza (Francis), brothers Robin Titus (Katy), Dylan Titus, and Cole Titus, nephews Maceo, Xylo, James and Luke, and her three dog children, Ndugu, Lilith and Brielle, as well as friends and other family members all over the country who loved her immensely.
Memorial and Celebration of Life services are planned Sunday, August 15th in Sebastopol, CA and in Atlanta, GA on the weekend of August 28th.
