Roderick Edward Jones

Roderick Edward Jones was born May 6, 1954 to the late Robert Jones and Theola Mullins in St. Louis, MO. On July 30, 2021 at 6:00pm, Roderick was surrounded by his family and the Eldest when he transitioned to rest. Roderick was educated at SLPS. He attended Friendly Temple Baptist Church with his family. It was there where he accepted Christ into his life at a young age. In 1971, Roderick enlisted and served in the U.S. Army for 6 years as a Water Purification Engineer in Georgia. After serving, he decided to make Georgia his home. He worked 20 years as a Professional Commercial Driver for Knight Transportation. Roderick would then work for Colorado Box Beef as dispatcher before retiring. He was an active member of DAV Chapter 55, Supporting the Disabled Veterans. Roderick was a pillar in his community. Whenever there was something needed, he would always be willing to help and support you in any way he could. He believed and loved helping others. Roderick will join his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones and his son, Roderick Maurice, who all proceeded him in transitioning. Roderick leaves to cherish and honor in his memory: his wife, Patricia Jones; two sons, Randell Robinson and Robert Foreman; three stepchildren, Marquita Sanders (Anthony), Jamal Abdulla, and Jasmine Jackson; one brother, Sylvester Mullins (Woody) and his best friend William Davis.
