Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Willie Louise Holsey made her entrance into this life on January 27th, 1960, in Albany Georgia. She was educated in the Dougherty County School System. She is a graduate of Monroe High School where she excelled academically and was an active cheerleader for the Golden Tornadoes.
Now if you knew Louise, you knew she was extremely intelligent and could not only give you information that you asked for, but sometimes provide so much that you wish you had not asked in the first place. She could recall or recite information with ease as if she had a photographic memory. We didn’t need Webster (or google) because we had Louise.
That photographic also memory played a role in her love for sports. She was a sports fanatic and could call out stats and players before you had time to think. There were those (mostly men) who tried to go toe to toe with her, but it rarely worked out in their favor.
She also had a competitive spirit that was a little over the top. She wanted to win whatever game was being played and took no prisoners. She didn’t care if you were 5 or 50, spades or uno if you didn’t come prepared you will probably walk away with your feelings hurt and hear her yelling as you walk away to “suck it up”.
She loved family gatherings and preferred a cookout over everything else. She could hands down be the one heard talking the loudest and laughing the hardest. Louise enjoyed the fun and music and if you saw her snapping her fingers you knew her jam was on.
Although, she was often sick over the last few years, she absolutely loved her grandchildren. She attended as many of their events and functions as she could. She spoke about them constantly. It was obvious that she was proud of them and all that they accomplished no matter how small it may have seemed
Her heart could no longer sustain her in this life, and she departed this world on Friday, August 6, 2021, after a long battle with congestive heart failure.

Willie Louise Cheeks was my dear cousin, classmate, childhood friend, and Debutante Sister. She was an awesome piano player, musical child prodigy, gospel2 singer, and scholar. She excelled academically as well, and was very competitive in her high school years. She was a joy to be around. Though Louise has transitioned from this life, she leaves a rich, strong legacy for her family to cherish and be very proud of. She was loved immensely by so many. Fly high with God Cousin. See you soon in the morning.❤️
