Fairburn Southern Cremations & Funerals
Deidre Yvette Austin, age 48, made her final journey August 16, 2021. She was born October 6, 1972 in Columbus, OH to Richard and Dorothy Turnbo.
Deidre was a many layered woman, who left folks in love with her everywhere she went. She loved to travel, tinker with anything electronic (could breakdown a computer and put it back in the same breath), hanging out with her sis Maria(James). She was big on self defense, started a small business in custom made crafts, she was even part of a motorcycle club!
Besides working on her small business, Dede loved to travel and it showed heavily throughout her career path in the Transportation Industry. She started out working for COTA, then moved on too Norfolk Southern. From there she went too CobbLinc/First Transit for the reminder of her time. Transportation was obviously her thing! And even spent a few years driving long distance in a Big Rig! Which actually inspired her middle child (Brittnee) to take an interest in long distance driving as well! And her entrepreneur mindset was passed on to her oldest and youngest (Kiera and Jaelin)!
Her life was a living example of the woman’s urge to become more than someone’s wife/mother/daughter. She truly pursued everything she put her mind to with 1,000% of everything she had in her. Watching DeDe motivated you to give anything a try, no matter how unsure you were!
She is survived by her mother and brother Dorothy Turnbo and Richard Turnbo Jr, soul sister Maria James; three living children, Kiera Lloyd and her husband (son-in-law)Andre Lloyd; Jaelin Cromwell and Brittnee Jenkins; two grandchildren Maica Lloyd(9)and Zaria Dobosu(5). Plus many other family members and friends who blood couldn’t make them no closer.
Please join us in celebrating her life September 11, 2021 at 431 SW Broad St, Fairburn, GA 30213. If bringing flowers, her favorite color was purple/lavender. We also ask that you wear something lavender as well. If you’d like to donate, please donate to the family or a charity that addresses either of the following; alcoholism, liver diseases or mental health in the black communities.
