Sandra Thompson, 79, of Acworth, GA passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Sandra was born on May 7, 1942 in Buffalo, NY to the late Mr. Alfred and Helen Bone Russert.
Sandra was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Sandra enjoyed traveling with her husband James “Bob” Thompson. She also enjoyed reading, and swimming and volunteering at church. Sandra will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Pearl Russert, and sister, Patricia Abbott.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James “Bob” Thompson, son, Dennis (Sandy) Thompson, daughters; Wende Albert, and Tiffany (Paul) Mullins, and, Alan Albert, grandchildren; Kevin (Michelle) Albert, Brett Albert, Renee (Brandon) Botterman, Brad Thompson, Michael Mullins, Collin Mullins, Madison Mullins, and Austin Mullins, great grandchildren; Devon and Olivia Albert, Hayleigh Hicks, and Hudson and Blake Botterman.
A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Cartersville, GA on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at eleven o’clock in the morning. Followed by a reception at the church. Interment will follow the service at three o’clock in the afternoon at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, Marietta. As was Sandra’s wishes, please wear bright colors in her memory.
The family will receive friends at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill, Marietta, in the Columbarium on Friday, October 22, 2021 from six o’clock in the evening until nine.
