Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Gilmore Hunt Spahr
10/19/1963 - 10/24/2021
Gil Spahr passed away peacefully at home in Marietta, Georgia
with his family by his side. He was 58 years old.
Though born in South Boston, VA, Gil spent his early years in
Greensboro, NC and teen years in Travelers Rest, SC before
moving to Georgia. He was employed with FritoLay for almost 30
years.
Gil was very proud of his immediate and extended family and
made sure they spent time together. He enjoyed taking trips with
his wife and children every year to visit those once in a lifetime
places. Gil was a big Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed attending
games with his sons, family and friends.
He attended North Metro Church in Marietta, GA. He accepted
Christ and was baptized when he was 16 years old. Gil believed
God had a purpose for his life and he hoped he had lived the life
that was intended for him.
Gil leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Theresa, and two sons,
Jonathan and Matthew; sisters Sandra and Pam; and a brother
Dan. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, cousins,
nephews, and nieces whom he loved very much.
Gil believed in helping children get the medical care they
deserved and regularly supported the Children's Miracle
Network. Donations may be made in his name.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at Heritage
